[Machine] I heard Ka'ab ibn Malik say, "When I greeted the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, he replied while his face was illuminating. The face of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to shine like a piece of the moon, and this was recognisable in him."  

الحاكم:٤١٩٣حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ أَنْبَأَ عُبَيْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَاحِدِ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ ثنا اللَّيْثُ عَنْ عَقِيلٍ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ

سَمِعْتُ كَعْبَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ يَقُولُ «لَمَّا سَلَّمْتُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ وَهُوَ يَبْرُقُ وَجْهُهُ وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا سُرَّ اسْتَنَارَ وَجْهُهُ كَأَنَّهُ قِطْعَةُ قَمَرٍ وَكَانَ يُعْرَفُ ذَلِكَ مِنْهُ»  

هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ الشَّيْخَيْنِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ وَقَدْ أَخْرَجَا وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَا هَذِهِ اللَّفْظَةَ على شرط البخاري ومسلم

I heard Kaʿb bin Malik talking after his failure to join (the Ghazwa of) Tabuk. He said, "When I greeted Messenger of Allah ﷺ whose face was glittering with happiness, for whenever Messenger of Allah ﷺ was happy, his face used to glitter, as if it was a piece of the moon, and we used to recognize it (i.e. his happiness) from his face."

فَلَمَّا سَلَّمْتُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَهْوَ يَبْرُقُ وَجْهُهُ مِنَ السُّرُورِ وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا سُرَّ اسْتَنَارَ وَجْهُهُ حَتَّى كَأَنَّهُ قِطْعَةُ قَمَرٍ وَكُنَّا نَعْرِفُ ذَلِكَ مِنْهُ

سَمِعْتُ كَعْبَ بْنَ مَالَكٍ يَقُولُ «كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا سُرَّ بِالْأَمْرِ اسْتَنَارَ وَجْهُهُ كَأَنَّهُ قِطْعَةُ قَمَرٍ حَتَّى يُعْرَفُ ذَلِكَ مِنْهُ»
