the Messenger of Allah ruled that the child belonged to the bed.  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَضَى بِالْوَلَدِ لِلْفِرَاشِ  

Yahya related to me from Malik from Nafi from Safiyya bint Abi Ubayd from A'isha and Hafsa, the wives of the Prophet ﷺ that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "It is not halal for a woman in mourning for someone who has died, if she trusts in Allah and the Last Day, to abstain from adornment for more than three nights, except for a husband."  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ لاَ يَحِلُّ لاِمْرَأَةٍ تُؤْمِنُ  

ʿThe child belongs to the (husband or master of the) woman.ʿ  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ الْوَلَدُ لِلْفِرَاشِ  

[Machine] Aisha, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ , informed her that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ mentioned its meaning.  

أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ زَوْجَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَخْبَرَتْهَا أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَاهُ  

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "The child belongs to the bed."  

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ الْوَلَدُ لِلْفِرَاشِ  

The Prophet ﷺ said, "The boy is for (the owner of) the bed and the stone is for the person who commits illegal sexual intercourse.' (Using translation from Bukhārī 6818)  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ الْوَلَدُ لِلْفِرَاشِ وَلِلْعَاهِرِ الْحَجَرُ
