[Machine] "O Messenger of Allah, the donkeys have been eaten or are being slaughtered." Then he said, "O Messenger of Allah, the donkeys have been slaughtered or are being eaten." So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered a man to announce, "Indeed, Allah and His Messenger prohibit you from consuming donkey meat, as it is impure."  

الدارمي:٢٠٣٤أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ هِشَامٍ عَنْ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ قَامَ رَجُلٌ يَوْمَ خَيْبَرَ فَقَالَ

يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أُكِلَتِ الْحُمُرُ أَوْ أُفْنِيَتِ الْحُمُرُ ثُمَّ قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أُفْنِيَتِ الْحُمُرُ أَوْ أُكِلَتِ الْحُمُرُ فَأَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ رَجُلًا فَنَادَى «إِنَّ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ يَنْهَيَانِكُمْ عَنْ لُحُومِ الْحُمُرِ فَإِنَّهَا رِجْسٌ»

Someone came to Messenger of Allah ﷺs and said, "The donkeys have been eaten (by the Muslims)." The Prophet kept quiet. Then the man came again and said, "The donkeys have been eaten." The Prophet ﷺ kept quiet. The man came to him the third time and said, "The donkeys have been consumed." On that the Prophet ﷺ ordered an announcer to announce to the people, "Allah and His Apostle forbid you to eat the meat of donkeys." Then the cooking pots were upset while the meat was still boiling in them.  

البخاري:٤١٩٩حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ؓ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ جَاءَهُ جَاءٍ فَقَالَ أُكِلَتِ الْحُمُرُ فَسَكَتَ ثُمَّ أَتَاهُ الثَّانِيَةَ فَقَالَ أُكِلَتِ الْحُمُرُ فَسَكَتَ ثُمَّ الثَّالِثَةَ فَقَالَ أُفْنِيَتِ الْحُمُرُ فَأَمَرَ مُنَادِيًا فَنَادَى فِي النَّاسِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ يَنْهَيَانِكُمْ عَنْ لُحُومِ الْحُمُرِ الأَهْلِيَّةِ فَأُكْفِئَتِ الْقُدُورُ وَإِنَّهَا لَتَفُورُ بِاللَّحْمِ

Someone came to Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "The donkeys have been (slaughtered and) eaten. Another man came and said, "The donkeys have been destroyed." On that the Prophet ﷺ ordered a caller to announce to the people: Allah and His Apostle forbid you to eat the meat of donkeys, for it is impure.' Thus the pots were turned upside down while the (donkeys') meat was boiling in them.

When it was the Day of Khaibar a visitor came and said: Messenger of Allah, the asses have been eaten. Then another came and said: Messenger of Allah, the asses are being destroyed. Then Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded Abu Talha to make an announcement that Allah and His Messenger have prohibited you (from eating) of the flesh of (domestic) asses, for these are loathsome or impure. He (the narrator) said: The earthein pots were turned over along with what was in them.  

مسلم:١٩٤٠bحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مِنْهَالٍ الضَّرِيرُ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ حَسَّانَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ

[Machine] "A man came to the Prophet ﷺ with meat from Khaybar, and he asked him: 'Have you eaten the donkey meat twice?' The man replied: 'Yes, I have consumed donkey meat.' The Prophet then announced: 'Verily, Allah and His Messenger forbid you from consuming donkey meat, for it is impure.'"
