Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "As for me, I pour water three times on my head." And he pointed with both his hands.

People made a mention of washing because of sexual defilement before the Messenger of Allah (May peace be upon him). The Messenger of Allah (May peace be upon him) said: I pour (water) on my head three times. And he made a sign with both his hands.  

أبو داود:٢٣٩ – حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ النُّفَيْلِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ أَخْبَرَنِي سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ صُرَدٍ
