ʿAta' said, "I heard Jabir bin ʿAbdullah saying, 'We never ate the meat of the Budn for more than three days of Mina. Later, the Prophet ﷺ gave us permission by saying: 'Eat and take (meat) with you. So we ate (some) and took (some) with us.' " I asked ʿAta', "Did Jabir say (that they went on eating the meat) till they reached Medina?" ʿAta' replied, "No."  

البخاري:١٧١٩ – حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَطَاءٌ

سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ؓ يَقُولُ كُنَّا لاَ نَأْكُلُ مِنْ لُحُومِ بُدْنِنَا فَوْقَ ثَلاَثِ مِنًى فَرَخَّصَ لَنَا النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَقَالَ كُلُوا وَتَزَوَّدُوا فَأَكَلْنَا وَتَزَوَّدْنَا قُلْتُ لِعَطَاءٍ أَقَالَ حَتَّى جِئْنَا الْمَدِينَةَ قَالَ لاَ

[Machine] "A'taa informed me that he heard Jabir ibn Abdullah saying, 'We used to only eat three dates as our meal during Hajj. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ advised us, 'Eat and prepare for your journey.' Hajjaj then said, 'We ate and prepared ourselves.'"

[Machine] He heard Jabir say that we used to not eat from the meat of the sacrificed animals except for three days. So the Prophet ﷺ advised us, saying, "Eat and take provisions." So we ate and took provisions.

البيهقي:١٩٢٠٨ – وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْكَعْبِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ أنبأ مُسَدَّدٌ ثنا يَحْيَى ثنا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ثنا عَطَاءٌ
