Speak to people at their level in order to prevent religious discord

bukhari:127 – ʿUbaydullāh b. Mūsá > Maʿrūf b. Kharrabūdh > Abū al-Ṭufayl > ʿAlī

The above mentioned Statement of ʿAli ˹who said: "Speak to the people in a way that they understand. Do you like for Allah and His Messenger to be denied?"˺  

البخاري:١٢٧ – حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُوسَى عَنْ مَعْرُوفِ بْنِ خَرَّبُوذٍ عَنْ أَبِي الطُّفَيْلِ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ

السيوطي:٤-٤٤٤b –

"عن عليٍّ قال: حَدِّثوا النَّاسَ بمَا تَعرِفونَ، أَتُحبونَ أَن يكذَّبَ الله ورسُولُه؟ ! ".

[Machine] On the authority of Abu al-Tufayl, he said: I heard ʿAlī say: “O people! Do you want Allah and His Messenger to be belied? Speak to the people about what you know, and leave what you do not recognize.”

"عَنْ أَبِى الطُّفَيل قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَلِيّا يَقُولُ: أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ! تُحِبُّونَ أَنْ يُكَذَّبَ الله وَرَسُولُهُ؟ حَدِّثُوا النَّاسَ بمَا تَعْرِفُونَ، وَدَعُوا مَا تُنْكِرُونَ".
