I was sleeping in front of the Mcsseinger ef Allah ﷺ with my legs between him and the Qibla. When he prostrated himself he pinched me and I drew up my legs, and when be stood up, I stretched them out. She said: At that time there were no lamps in the houses.

كُنْتُ أَنَامُ بَيْنَ يَدَىْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَرِجْلاَىَ فِي قِبْلَتِهِ فَإِذَا سَجَدَ غَمَزَنِي فَقَبَضْتُ رِجْلَىَّ وَإِذَا قَامَ بَسَطْتُهُمَا قَالَتْ وَالْبُيُوتُ يَوْمَئِذٍ لَيْسَ فِيهَا مَصَابِيحُ

"I used to sleep in front of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and my feet were in the direction of his Qiblah. When he prostrated he nudged me and I drew up my feet, then when he stood up I stretched them out again. And there were no lamps in the houses at the time."

كُنْتُ أَنَامُ بَيْنَ يَدَىْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَرِجْلاَىَ فِي قِبْلَتِهِ فَإِذَا سَجَدَ غَمَزَنِي فَقَبَضْتُ رِجْلَىَّ فَإِذَا قَامَ بَسَطْتُهُمَا وَالْبُيُوتُ يَوْمَئِذٍ لَيْسَ فِيهَا مَصَابِيحُ

ʿAisha the wife of the Prophet ﷺ said, "I used to sleep in front o Messenger of Allah ﷺ and my legs were opposite his Qibla and in prostration he pushed my legs and I withdrew then and when he stood, I stretched them.' ʿAisha added, "In those days the houses were without lights." عَنْ عَائِشَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ كُنْتُ أَنَامُ بَيْنَ يَدَيْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَرِجْلَيَّ فِي قِبْلَتِهِ فَإِذَا سَجَدَ غَمَزَنِي فَقَبَضْتُ رِجْلَيَّ وَإِذَا قَامَ بَسَطْتُهُا وَالْبُيُوتُ لَيْسَ فِيهَا يَوْمَئِذٍ مَصَابِيحُ

[AI] The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ used to pray with his feet towards his Qiblah (the direction of Mecca). When he wanted to prostrate, he would wink at me and I would shorten them, and when he stood up, I would extend them.

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي وَرِجْلِي فِي قِبْلَتِهِ فَإِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَسْجُدَ غَمَزَنِي فَقَبَضْتُهَا فَإِذَا قَامَ بَسَطْتُهَا

[AI] Narrated Ibn Qanabiyyah, from Malik, from Abu Nadhrah, from Abu Salamah, from Aisha, she said: "I used to stretch out my legs towards the qibla of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while he was praying. When he prostrated, he touched them (meaning her legs) and I would retract them, and when he stood up, I would stretch them out again."

حَدَّثَنَا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنْ أَبِي النَّضْرِ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ «كُنْتُ أَمُدُّ رِجْلَيَّ فِي قِبْلَةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي فَإِذَا سَجَدَ غَمَزَنِي فَرَفَعَتْهُمَا وَإِذَا قَامَ رَدَدْتُهُمَا»

"كُنْتُ أَنَامُ بَيْنَ يَدْيِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَرِجْلَايَ فِي قِبْلَتِهِ فَإِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَسْجُدَ غَمَزَنِي [فَقبَضْتُ] رِجْلِيَّ، فَإِذَا قَامَ بَسَطْتُهُمَا، قَالَتْ: وَلَمْ يَكُنْ فِي البيُوتِ يَوْمَئِذٍ مَصَابِيحُ القِبْلَةِ".
