[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "The hyena is prey, so eat it all, and in it is a fat ram when the forbidden (meat) touches it."  

البيهقي:٩٨٧٤ – وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ بْنُ عَبْدَانَ أنبأ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ ثنا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ الْحَجَبِيُّ ثنا حَسَّانُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ الصَّائِغُ عَنْ عَطَاءٍ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ

I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about the hyena. He replied: It is game, and if one who is wearing ihram (pilgrim's robe) hunts it, he should give a sheep as atonement. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 3801)   

الدارمي:١٩٨٤ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرُ بْنُ حَازِمٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي عَمَّارٍ عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ

سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنِ الضَّبُعِ فَقَالَ «هُوَ صَيْدٌ وَفِيهِ كَبْشٌ إِذَا أَصَابَهُ الْمُحْرِمُ»

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The hyena is a prey, so if it is caught by a person in the state of ihram (pilgrim sanctity), there is a compensation of a mature sheep and it can be eaten."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «الضَّبُعُ صَيْدٌ فَإِذَا أَصَابَهُ الْمُحْرِمُ فَفِيهِ جَزَاءً كَبْشٌ مُسِنٌّ وَيُؤْكَلُ»  

هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ وَإِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مَيْمُونٍ الصَّائِغُ زَاهِدٌ عَالِمٌ أَدْرَكَ الشَّهَادَةَ ؓ
