[Machine] A woman from the tribe of Khath'am asked the Prophet ﷺ one morning after the congregational prayer, while the reward of the prayer was doubled. She said, "Indeed, the obligation of Allah upon His servants has overtaken my father, who is an elderly man and is unable to mount a riding animal. Do you think it is permissible for me to perform Hajj on his behalf?" He replied, "Yes, it is permissible." Ali ibn al-Madini narrated that Sufyan bin Uyaynah said, "Amr ibn Dinar used to exceed al-Zuhri in this issue before he saw Ibn Shihab (al-Zuhri)." She then asked, "Will that be of any benefit to him?" The Prophet ﷺ replied, "Yes, it would be beneficial. Similarly, if there was a debt upon one of you and you paid it off."  

البيهقي:٩٨٥٢ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ عَبْدَانَ أنبأ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ الصَّفَّارُ ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمَدِينِيِّ وَاللَّفْظُ لِعَلِيٍّ ثنا سُفْيَانُ ثنا الزُّهْرِيُّ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ

أَنَّ امْرَأَةً مِنْ خَثْعَمٍ سَأَلَتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ غَدَاةَ جَمْعٍ وَالْفَضْلُ رَدِيفُهُ فَقَالَتْ إِنَّ فَرِيضَةَ اللهِ عَلَى عِبَادِهِ أَدْرَكَتْ أَبِي شَيْخًا كَبِيرًا لَا يَسْتَطِيعُ أَنْ يَسْتَمْسِكَ عَلَى الرَّاحِلَةِ فَهَلْ تَرَى أَنْ أَحُجَّ عَنْهُ؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمَدِينِيِّ قَالَ سُفْيَانُ وَكَانَ عَمْرُو بْنُ دِينَارٍ يَزِيدُ فِيهِ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَرَى ابْنَ شِهَابٍ قَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَيَنْفَعُهُ ذَلِكَ؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ كَذَلِكَ لَوْ كَانَ عَلَى أَحَدِكُمُ الدَّيْنُ فَقَضَيْتُهُ

a woman from Khath'am asked the Prophet on the morning of the Day of Sacrifice: "O Messenger of Allah! The command of Allah to His slaves to perform Hajj has come, while my father is an old man and cannot sit firmly in the saddle. Can I perform Hajj on his behalf?" He said: "Yes. أحمد:١٨٩٠ – حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ سَمِعَ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنَ يَسَارٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ

أَنَّ امْرَأَةً مِنْ خَثْعَمَ سَأَلَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ غَدَاةَ جَمْعٍ وَالْفَضْلُ بْنُ عَبَّاسٍ رِدْفُهُ فَقَالَتْ إِنَّ فَرِيضَةَ اللهِ فِي الْحَجِّ عَلَى عِبَادِهِ أَدْرَكَتْ أَبِي شَيْخًا كَبِيرًا لَا يَسْتَطِيعُ أَنْ يَسْتَمْسِكَ عَلَى الرَّحْلِ فَهَلْ تَرَى أَنْ أَحُجَّ عَنْهُ؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ

[Machine] A woman from the tribe of Khath'am asked the Prophet ﷺ during the Farewell Hajj, and Al-Fadl bin Abbas, the cousin of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, was sitting next to him. She said, "O Messenger of Allah, the obligation of Hajj has befallen upon my father who is an old man and unable to hold onto the reins of the camel. Should I perform Hajj on his behalf?" He replied, "Yes, perform Hajj on behalf of your father."

أَنَّ امْرَأَةً مِنْ خَثْعَمَ سَأَلَتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ وَالْفَضْلُ بْنُ عَبَّاسٍ رَدِيفُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ فَرِيضَةَ اللهِ فِي الْحَجِّ عَلَى عِبَادِهِ أَدْرَكَتْ أَبِي شَيْخًا كَبِيرًا لَا يَسْتَطِيعُ أَنْ يَسْتَمْسِكَ عَلَى الرَّاحِلَةِ أَفَأَحُجُّ عَنْهُ؟ فَقَالَ نَعَمْ حُجِّي عَنْ أَبِيكِ

[Machine] I heard Ibn Abbas saying, "A woman from Khath'am asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ during the morning of sacrifice and Fadl's stoning, 'Indeed, the obligation of Allah during Hajj is upon His servants, and it has reached my father who is an elderly man unable to hold onto the camel. Do you think he should perform Hajj on behalf of him?' He replied, 'Yes.' Sufyan said, 'This is how I have memorized it, that she said, 'Do you think he should perform Hajj on behalf of him?' Others have narrated it in a different way, 'Do you think I should perform Hajj on behalf of him?'' Sufyan said, 'Amr bin Dinar narrated to us first from Az-Zuhri from Sulaiman bin Yasir from Ibn Abbas, and he asked, 'Will that benefit him, O Messenger of Allah?' He replied, 'Yes, just as if one of you had a debt and it was paid off.' When Az-Zuhri narrated to us, I looked into it and he did not mention this statement which

سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ يَقُولُ إِنَّ امْرَأَةً مِنْ خَثْعَمٍ سَأَلَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ غَدَاةَ النَّحْرِ وَالْفَضْلُ رِدْفُهُ فَقَالَتْ إِنَّ فَرِيضَةَ اللهِ فِي الْحَجِّ عَلَى عِبَادِهِ أَدْرَكَتْ أَبِي وَهُوَ شَيْخٌ كَبِيرٌ لَا يَسْتَطِيعُ أَنْ يَسْتَمْسِكَ عَلَى الرَّاحِلَةَ فَهَلْ تَرَى أَنْ يُحَجَّ عَنْهُ؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ سُفْيَانُ هَكَذَا حِفْظِي أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ هَلْ تَرَى أَنْ يُحَجَّ عَنْهُ؟ وَغَيْرِي يَقُولُ فِي هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ فَهَلْ تَرَى أَنْ أَحُجَّ عَنْهُ؟ قَالَ سُفْيَانُ وَكَانَ عَمْرُو بْنُ دِينَارٍ حَدَّثَنَاهُ أَوَّلًا عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فَقَالَ فِيهِ أَوَ يَنْفَعُهُ ذَلِكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ كَمَا لَوْ كَانَ عَلَى أَحَدِكُمْ دَيْنٌ فَقَضَاهُ فَلَمَّا جَاءَنَا الزُّهْرِيُّ حَدَّثَنَاهُ فَتَفَقَّدَتْهُ فَلَمْ يَقُلْ هَذَا الْكَلَامَ الَّذِي
