bayhaqi:8002Abū Zakariyyā b. Abū Isḥāq al-Muzakkī And ʾAbū Bakr Aḥmad b. al-Ḥasan al-Qāḍī > Abū al-ʿAbbās Muḥammad b. Yaʿqūb > Baḥr b. Naṣr > Quriʾ > Ibn Wahb Akhbarak Ibn Abū Dhiʾb > al-Ḥārith b. ʿAbd al-Raḥman > Muḥammad b. ʿAbd al-Raḥman b. Thawbān

[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: They are two dawns. As for the one that appears like the tail of a fox, then it does not make anything permissible or impermissible. And as for the elongated one that extends along the horizon, then it makes the prayer permissible and prohibits eating. This hadith is transmitted and has been mentioned with reference to Jabir ibn Abdullah."  

البيهقي:٨٠٠٢أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ الْمُزَكِّي وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْقَاضِي قَالَا ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا بَحْرُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ قَالَ قُرِئَ عَلَى ابْنِ وَهْبٍ أَخْبَرَكَ ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ عَنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ ثَوْبَانَ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ هُمَا فَجْرَانِ فَأَمَّا الَّذِي كَأَنَّهُ ذَنَبُ السِّرْحَانِ فَإِنَّهُ لَا يُحِلُّ شَيْئًا وَلَا يُحَرِّمُهُ وَأَمَّا الْمُسْتَطِيلُ الَّذِي يَأْخُذُ بِالْأُفُقِ فَإِنَّهُ يُحِلُّ الصَّلَاةَ وَيُحَرِّمُ الطَّعَامَ هَذَا مُرْسَلٌ وَقَدْ رُوِيَ مَوْصُولًا بِذِكْرِ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ فِيهِ

As for the Dawn which spreads horizontally across the horizon, it allows the prayer and prohibits food. This is how it has been narrated with this connected chain of transmission and this transmitted chain of transmission and it is the most authentic."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ الْفَجْرُ فَجْرَانِ فَأَمَّا الْفَجْرُ الَّذِي يَكُونُ كَذَنَبِ السِّرْحَانِ فَلَا يُحِلُّ الصَّلَاةَ وَلَا يُحَرِّمُ الطَّعَامَ وَأَمَّا الَّذِي يَذْهَبُ مُسْتَطِيلًا فِي الْأُفُقِ فَإِنَّهُ يُحِلُّ الصَّلَاةَ وَيُحَرِّمُ الطَّعَامَ هَكَذَا رُوِيَ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ مَوْصُولًا وَرُوِيَ مُرْسَلًا وَهُوَ أَصَحُّ
