[Machine] "He (the Prophet) came and said: 'Which charity do you find most desirable?' He (the Prophet) replied: 'Giving water to drink.' This is the narration of Muhammad ibn 'Ararah. And in the narration of 'Affan, Sa'd ibn 'Ubadah said: 'O Messenger of Allah, which charity is the best?' And he (the Messenger of Allah) added: 'Sa'd had a water source in Madinah.' I asked Qatadah: 'Who said this about the family of Sa'd?' He said: 'Al-Hasan said it.'"  

البيهقي:٧٨٠٤ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحُسَيْنِ بْنُ بِشْرَانَ الْعَدْلُ بِبَغْدَادَ أنبأ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ الرَّزَّازُ ثنا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ شَاكِرٍ ثنا عَفَّانُ ثنا شُعْبَةُ ح وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ ثنا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْهِلَالِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَرْعَرَةَ ثنا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ وَالْحَسَنِ عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عُبَادَةَ

أَنَّهُ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ أَيُّ الصَّدَقَةِ أَعْجَبُ إِلَيْكَ قَالَ سَقْيُ الْمَاءِ لَفْظُ حَدِيثِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَرْعَرَةَ وَفِي حَدِيثِ عَفَّانَ أَنَّ سَعْدَ بْنَ عُبَادَةَ قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أِيُّ الصَّدَقَةِ أَفْضَلُ؟ وَزَادَ قَالَ وَكَانَ لِسَعْدٍ سِقَايَةٌ بِالْمَدِينَةِ قَالَ قُلْتُ لِقَتَادَةَ مَنْ قَالَ لِآلِ سَعْدٍ؟ قَالَ الْحَسَنُ

[Machine] To the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, he said: "My mother has passed away, so should I give charity on her behalf?" He replied: "Yes." He then asked: "Which charity is the best?" He said: "Giving water to drink." He said: "That is the watering place of the family of Sa'd in Madinah." Shu'bah said: "So I asked Qatadah, who says that it is the watering place of the family of Sa'd?" Al-Hasan said: "Yes."  

أحمد:٢٣٨٤٥ – حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ شُعْبَةَ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ الْحَسَنَ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عُبَادَةَ أَنَّ أُمَّهُ مَاتَتْ فَقَالَ

لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّ أُمِّي مَاتَتْ أَفَأَتَصَدَّقُ عَنْهَا؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ فَأَيُّ الصَّدَقَةِ أَفْضَلُ؟ قَالَ سَقْيُ الْمَاءِ قَالَ فَتِلْكَ سِقَايَةُ آلِ سَعْدٍ بِالْمَدِينَةِ قَالَ شُعْبَةُ فَقُلْتُ لِقَتَادَةَ مَنْ يَقُولُ تِلْكَ سِقَايَةُ آلِ سَعْدٍ قَالَ الْحَسَنُ
