[Machine] They said that they used to give Zakat al-Fitr during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in the amount of the food of the people of the household or the amount of the food they themselves ate. All the people of Madinah used to do that.  

البيهقي:٧٧١٦ – أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو نَصْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ حَامِدٍ التِّرْمِذِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حِبَّانَ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ ثنا اللَّيْثُ عَنْ عَقِيلٍ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ أُمِّهِ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ؓ أَنَّهَا

حَدَّثَتْهُ أَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا يُخْرِجُونَ زَكَاةَ الْفِطْرِ فِي عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ بِالْمُدِّ الَّذِي يَقْتَاتُ بِهِ أَهْلُ الْبَيْتِ أَوِ الصَّاعِ الَّذِي يَقْتَاتُونَ بِهِ يَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ أَهْلُ الْمَدِينَةِ كُلُّهُمْ

أَنَّهَا حَدَّثَتْهُ أَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا «يُخْرِجُونَ زَكَاةَ الْفِطْرِ فِي عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ بِالْمُدِّ الَّذِي يَقْتَاتُ بِهِ أَهْلُ الْبَيْتِ أَوِ الصَّاعِ الَّذِي يَقْتَاتُونَ بِهِ يَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ أَهْلُ الْمَدِينَةِ كُلُّهُمْ»  

هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ الشَّيْخَيْنِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ وَهِيَ الْحُجَّةُ لِمُنَاظَرَةِ مَالِكٍ وَأَبِي يُوسُفَ رَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِمَا
