Imam Shafi'i (may Allah have mercy on him) used to say, "Children should wear the best clothes that can be afforded, whether they are boys or girls, and they should wear jewelry and adornments, such as on the day of Eid." The scholar said, "Malik ibn Anas (may Allah have mercy on him) disliked this."
