bayhaqi:4708 – Muḥammad b. ʿAbdullāh al-Ḥāfiẓ > Abū ʿAbdullāh Muḥammad b. Yaʿqūb > Ḥusayn b. Muḥammad al-Qabbānī And ʿImrān b. Mūsá > Dāwud b. Rushayd > Yaḥyá b. Saʿīd al-Umawī > Ṭalḥah b. Yaḥyá > Abū Burdah > Abū Mūsá

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me, "If you could see me while I am listening to your recitation last night, you would have been given a flute from the flutes of the family of David." Then he said, "If I knew, I would have sealed it for you."  

البيهقي:٤٧٠٨ – وَأَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ أنبأ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْقَبَّانِيُّ وَعِمْرَانُ بْنُ مُوسَى قَالَا ثنا دَاوُدُ بْنُ رُشَيْدٍ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْأُمَوِيُّ ثنا طَلْحَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى قَالَ

قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَوْ رَأَيْتَنِي وَأَنَا أَسْمَعُ قِرَاءَتَكَ الْبَارِحَةَ لَقَدْ أُوتِيتَ مِزْمَارًا مِنْ مَزَامِيرِ آلِ دَاوُدَ فَقَالَ لَوْ عَلِمْتُ لَحَبَّرْتُهُ لَكَ تَحْبِيرًا  

رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ رُشَيْدٍ إِلَّا أَنَّهُ لَمْ يَذْكُرْ قَوْلَ أَبِي مُوسَى وَأَخْرَجَهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ مُخْتَصَرًا مِنْ حَدِيثِ بُرَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ عَنْ جَدِّهِ
