[Machine] It was in the book of the Prophet ﷺ to Amr ibn Hazm, "Do not touch the Quran except while you are in a state of purification."  

البيهقي:٤٠٨ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ السُّلَمِيُّ وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ الْحَارِثُ الْفَقِيهُ قَالَا نا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْحَافِظُ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ نا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ أَبِي الرَّبِيعِ ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أنا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ

كَانَ فِي كِتَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ لِعَمْرِو بْنِ حَزْمٍ أَنْ لَا تَمَسَّ الْقُرْآنَ إِلَّا عَلَى طُهْرٍ

Yahya related to me from Malik from Abdullah ibn Abi Bakr ibn Hazm that in a letter that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent to Amr ibn Hazm it said that no-one should touch the Qur'an unless he was pure.  

مالك:١٥-١ – حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ حَزْمٍ

أَنَّ فِي الْكِتَابِ الَّذِي كَتَبَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لِعَمْرِو بْنِ حَزْمٍ أَنْ لاَ يَمَسَّ الْقُرْآنَ إِلاَّ طَاهِرٌ
