[Machine] O Commander of the Faithful, the cold is intense and I do not have anything to warm me. He made him upset and then said to him, "Wash what you left from your feet and repeat the prayer." And he ordered him a cloak.  

البيهقي:٣٩٦ – أَخْبَرَنَاهُ أَبُو بَكْرٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ الْحَارِثُ الْفَقِيهُ أنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْحَافِظُ نا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ نا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَرَفَةَ نا هُشَيْمٌ عَنِ الْحَجَّاجِ وَعَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ عَنْ عَطَاءٍ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ اللَّيْثِيِّ أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ ؓ رَأَى رَجُلًا وَبِظَهْرِ قَدَمِهِ لُمْعَةٌ لَمْ يُصِبْهَا الْمَاءُ فَقَالَ لَهُ عُمَرُ أَبِهَذَا الْوُضُوءِ تَحْضُرُ الصَّلَاةَ؟ فَقَالَ

يَا أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ الْبَرْدُ شَدِيدٌ وَمَا مَعِيَ مَا يُدْفِئُنِي فَرَقَّ لَهُ بَعْدَمَا هَمَّ بِهِ فَقَالَ لَهُ اغْسِلْ مَا تَرَكْتَ مِنْ قَدَمِكَ وَأَعِدِ الصَّلَاةَ وَأَمَرَ لَهُ بِخَمِيصَةٍ

السيوطي:٢-٢٣٥٨b –

"عن عبيد بن عُميرٍ الليثى أن عمَر بنَ الخطابِ رأى رجلًا وَبِظَهْرِ قَدَمِهِ لَمْعةٌ لم يُصِبْهَا الماءُ فقالَ لهُ عمرُ: أبِهذَا الوضوءِ تحضرُ الصلاةَ؟ فقالَ: يا أميرَ المؤمنينَ: البردُ شديدٌ، ومَا مَعِى مَا يَكْفِينِى، فَرَقَّ لَهُ بَعْدَ مَا هَمَّ بِهِ، فقالَ لَهُ: اغْسِلْ ما تركتَ من قَدَمِكَ، وأعِد الصلاةَ، وأمرَ لَهُ بِخَمِيصَةٍ".
