[Machine] Shurahbil bin al-Simt was the governor of Hims appointed by 'Amr bin 'Abasa al-Sulami, the companion of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. "O Abu Najih, narrate to us a hadith that you heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, which contains no addition or omission." Abu Najih said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, 'Whoever frees a believing slave, Allah will free for each of his organs a part from the Fire. And whoever shoots an arrow in the cause of Allah, and it reaches its target, it will be for him a reward equivalent to that of freeing a slave. And whoever goes out in the cause of Allah and returns with white hairs [due to old age or ailing], it will be a light for him on the Day of Resurrection."  

البيهقي:٢١٣١٠ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عُثْمَانَ سَعِيدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدَانَ النَّيْسَابُورِيُّ أنبأ أَبُو بَكْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُؤَمَّلِ ثنا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الشَّعْرَانِيُّ ثنا أَبُو صَالِحٍ حَدَّثَنِي مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ أَنَّهُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَسَدَ بْنَ وَدَاعَةَ الطَّائِيَّ يَقُولُ قَالَ

شُرَحْبِيلُ بْنُ السِّمْطِ وَهُوَ أَمِيرٌ عَلَى حِمْصَ لِعَمْرِو بْنِ عَبَسَةَ السُّلَمِيِّ صَاحِبِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ يَا أَبَا نَجِيحٍ حَدِّثْنَا بِحَدِيثٍ سَمِعْتَهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ لَيْسَ فِيهِ تَزَيُّدٌ وَلَا نِسْيَانٌ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ مَنْ أَعْتَقَ رَقَبَةً مُؤْمِنَةً أَعْتَقَ اللهُ بِكُلَّ عُضْوٍ مِنْهَا عُضْوًا مِنْهُ مِنَ النَّارِ وَمَنْ رَمَى بِسَهْمٍ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ فَبَلَغَ الْعَدُوَّ وَأَصَابَ كَانَ لَهُ كَعِدْلِ رَقَبَةٍ وَمَنْ شَابَ شَيْبَةً فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ كَانَتْ لَهُ نُورًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ

Whoever shoots an arrow in the cause of Allah, Most High, whether it reaches the enemy or not, it will be as if he freed a slave. Whoever frees a believing slave, it will be a ransom for him from the Fire, limb by limb.'"

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "Whoever frees a slave, Allah will free every organ of their body from the Hellfire. And whoever shoots an arrow in the way of Allah, whether it reaches its target or not, they will be rewarded as if they have freed a slave. And whoever grows gray hair in the way of Allah, they will have light on the Day of Resurrection."  

أحمد:١٧٠٢٤ – حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْحَمِيدِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي الْأَسْوَدُ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ عَنْ حُوَىٍّ مَوْلَى سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ عَنْ رَجُلٍ أَرْسَلَ إِلَيْهِ عُمَرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ وَهُوَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ قَالَ كَيْفَ الْحَدِيثُ الَّذِي حَدَّثْتَنِي عَنِ الصُّنَابِحِيِّ؟ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي الصُّنَابِحِيّ أَنَّهُ لَقِيَ عَمْرَو بْنَ عَبَسَةَ فَقَالَهَلْ مِنْ حَدِيثٍ

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ لَا زِيَادَةَ فِيهِ وَلَا نُقْصَانَ؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ مَنْ أَعْتَقَ رَقَبَةً أَعْتَقَ اللهُ بِكُلِّ عُضْوٍ مِنْهَا عُضْوًا مِنْهُ مِنَ النَّارِ وَمَنْ رَمَى بِسَهْمٍ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ بَلَغَ أَوْ قَصَّرَ كَانَ عِدْلَ رَقَبَةٍ وَمَنْ شَابَ شَيْبَةً فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ كَانَ لَهُ نُورًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ

[Machine] Narrated by Amr, I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Whoever frees a Muslim slave, his emancipation will be his ransom from the Fire on the Day of Resurrection, limb by limb. And whoever bears white hair in the cause of Allah, it will be a light for him on the Day of Resurrection. And whoever shoots an arrow in the cause of Allah, and it reaches its target or misses, it will be for him as if he freed a slave from the descendants of Isma'il."  

أحمد:١٧٠٢٠ – حَدَّثَنَا الْحَكَمُ بْنُ نَافِعٍ حَدَّثَنَا حَرِيزٌ عَنْ سُلَيْمٍ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَامِرٍ أَنَّ شُرَحْبِيلَ بْنَ السِّمْطِ قَالَ لِعَمْرِو بْنِ عَبَسَةَ حَدِّثْنَا حَدِيثًا لَيْسَ فِيهِ تَزَيُّدٌ وَلَا نِسْيَانٌ قَالَ عَمْرٌو
