bayhaqi:20726Abū Saʿīd b. Abū ʿAmr Fī Ākharīn > Abū al-ʿAbbās Muḥammad b. Yaʿqūb > al-Rabīʿ b. Sulaymān > al-Shāfiʿī > al-Ḥujjah Fīh > Muḥammad b. ʿAlī b. Shāfiʿ > ʿAbdullāh b. ʿAlī b. al-Sāʾib > Nāfiʿ b. ʿUjayr b. ʿAbd Yazīd

Nafi' bun Ujair bin Abd Yazid bin Ruknah reported Ruknah bin ‘Abd Yazid divorced his wife Suhaimah absolutely. The Prophet ﷺ was informed about this matter. He said to him (the Prophet) I swear by Allaah that I meant it to be only a single utterance of divorce. The Apostle of Allaah ﷺ said “I swear by Allaah that I meant it to be only a single divorce. The Apostle of Allaah ﷺ restored her to him, Then he divorced her the second time in the time of ‘Umar and the third time of ‘Uthman. Abu Dawud said “This tradition contains the words of Ibrahim in its beginning and the words of Ibn Al Sarh in the end. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2206)

أَنَّ رُكَانَةَ بْنَ عَبْدِ يَزِيدَ طَلَّقَ امْرَأَتَهُ ثُمَّ أَتَى رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ إِنِّي طَلَّقْتُ امْرَأَتِيَ الْبَتَّةَ وَاللهِ مَا أَرَدْتُ إِلَّا وَاحِدَةً فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَا أَرَدْتَ إِلَّا وَاحِدَةً؟ فَقَالَ رُكَانَةُ وَاللهِ مَا أَرَدْتُ إِلَّا وَاحِدَةً فَرَدَّهَا إِلَيْهِ

أَنَّ رُكَانَةَ بْنَ عَبْدِ يَزِيدَ طَلَّقَ امْرَأَتَهُ سُهَيْمَةَ الْبَتَّةَ فَأَخْبَرَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ بِذَلِكَ وَقَالَ وَاللَّهِ مَا أَرَدْتُ إِلاَّ وَاحِدَةً فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَاللَّهِ مَا أَرَدْتَ إِلاَّ وَاحِدَةً فَقَالَ رُكَانَةُ وَاللَّهِ مَا أَرَدْتُ إِلاَّ وَاحِدَةً فَرَدَّهَا إِلَيْهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَطَلَّقَهَا الثَّانِيَةَ فِي زَمَانِ عُمَرَ وَالثَّالِثَةَ فِي زَمَانِ عُثْمَانَ

[Machine] It is called Suhaima, so I divorced her immediately. Then I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, I divorced my wife Suhaima Al-Batta'ah, and by Allah, I only wanted one divorce." He said, "By Allah, did you only want one divorce?" I said, "By Allah, I only wanted one divorce." So he returned her to me on the condition of one divorce. Abdullah ibn Ali ibn Al-Sa'ib, and Abdullah ibn Ali ibn Al-Awwal, who is the son of Rukana ibn Abdul Yazid.

يُقَالُ لَهَا سُهَيْمَةُ فَطَلَّقْتُهَا الْبَتَّةَ فَجِئْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي طَلَّقْتُ امْرَأَتِي سُهَيْمَةَ الْبَتَّةَ وَاللهِ مَا أَرَدْتُ إِلَّا وَاحِدَةً فَقَالَ وَاللهِ مَا أَرَدْتَ إِلَّا وَاحِدَةً؟ قُلْتُ وَاللهِ مَا أَرَدْتُ إِلَّا وَاحِدَةً فَرَدَّهَا عَلَيَّ عَلَى وَاحِدَةٍ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الثَّانِي هُوَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ السَّائِبِ وَعَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْأَوَّلُ هُوَ ابْنُ رُكَانَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ يَزِيدَ
