[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The young should greet the elders, the one walking should greet the one sitting, and the few should greet the many."  

البيهقي:١٨٧١٩ – وَاحْتَجَّ أَصْحَابُنَا فِي ذَلِكَ أَيْضًا بِمَا حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ دَاوُدَ الْعَلَوِيُّ رَحِمَهُ اللهُ إِمْلَاءً أنبأ أَبُو حَامِدِ بْنُ الشَّرْقِيِّ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَفْصٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي حَدَّثَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ طَهْمَانَ عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ عُقْبَةَ عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ سُلَيْمٍ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ؓ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُسَلِّمُ الصَّغِيرُ عَلَى الْكَبِيرِ وَالْمَارُّ عَلَى الْقَاعِدِ وَالْقَلِيلُ عَلَى الْكَثِيرِ  

أَخْرَجَهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ فِي الصَّحِيحِ فَقَالَ وَقَالَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ طَهْمَانَ

Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The younger person should greet the older one, and the walking person should greet the sitting one, and the small number of persons should greet the large number of persons."

The young should salute the old, the one who is passing by should salute the one who is sitting, and a small company should salute a large one.  

أبو داود:٥١٩٨ – حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَنْبَلٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ هَمَّامِ بْنِ مُنَبِّهٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُسَلِّمُ الصَّغِيرُ عَلَى الْكَبِيرِ وَالْمَارُّ عَلَى الْقَاعِدِ وَالْقَلِيلُ عَلَى الْكَثِيرِ  

tirmidhi:2704 – Sūwayd b. Naṣr > ʿAbdullāh b. al-Mubārak > Maʿmar > Hammām b. Munabbih > Abū Hurayrah

from Abu Hurairah that the Prophet ﷺ said: "The young one gives the Salam to the elder, the one passing the by to the one sitting and the few to the many."  

الترمذي:٢٧٠٤ – حَدَّثَنَا سُوَيْدُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ أَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ أَنْبَأَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ هَمَّامِ بْنِ مُنَبِّهٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ
