[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever dies without participating in battle and without having the intention for it, dies upon a branch of hypocrisy."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ مَاتَ وَلَمْ يَغْزُ وَلَمْ يُحَدِّثْ نَفْسَهُ بِغَزْوٍ مَاتَ عَلَى شُعْبَةٍ مِنَ النِّفَاقِ

One who died but did not fight in the way of Allah nor did he express any desire (or determination) for Jihad died the death of a hypocrite. 'Abdullah b. Mubarak said: We think the hadith pertained to the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَنْ مَاتَ وَلَمْ يَغْزُ وَلَمْ يُحَدِّثْ بِهِ نَفْسَهُ مَاتَ عَلَى شُعْبَةٍ مِنْ نِفَاقٍ قَالَ ابْنُ سَهْمٍ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ فَنُرَى أَنَّ ذَلِكَ كَانَ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ
[Machine] Abu Al-Muwajjah narrated that Abdan narrated that Abdullah narrated from Wuhayb ibn Al-Ward that Umar ibn Muhammad ibn Al-Munkadir narrated from Sumayy from Abu Salih from Abu Hurayrah from the Prophet ﷺ who said, "Whoever dies without fighting in the cause of Allah or without having the intention to do so, dies on a branch of hypocrisy." Muslim has argued with Wuhayb ibn Al-Ward about this narration.
ثنا أَبُو الْمُوَجِّهِ أَنْبَأَ عَبْدَانُ أَنْبَأَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ عَنْ وُهَيْبِ بْنِ الْوَرْدِ عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ عَنْ سُمَيٍّ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ مَاتَ وَلَمْ يَغْزُ وَلَمْ يُحَدِّثْ نَفْسَهُ بِالْغَزْوِ مَاتَ عَلَى شُعْبَةٍ مِنْ نِفَاقٍ» قَدِ احْتَجَّ مُسْلِمٌ بِوُهَيْبِ بْنِ الْوَرْدِ وَ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said, "There are two things among people that are regarded as disbelief: wailing over the dead and slander about lineage."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ ثِنْتَانِ هِيَ فِي النَّاسِ كُفْرٌ نِيَاحَةٌ عَلَى الْمَيِّتِ وَطَعْنٌ فِي النَّسَبِ
