[Machine] A man was brought to the Prophet ﷺ while he was intoxicated. He then ordered a group of about twenty men to discipline him with palm branches and sandals. This incident was mentioned in a hadith, and it is possible that it occurred after the person's intoxication had worn off. Allah knows best.  

البيهقي:١٧٥٢٢أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمُقْرِئُ ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ ثنا يُوسُفُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا هُدْبَةُ ثنا هَمَّامٌ ثنا قَتَادَةُ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ

أَنَّ رَجُلًا رُفِعَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَدْ سَكِرَ قَالَ فَأَمَرَ قَرِيبًا مِنْ عِشْرِينَ رَجُلًا فَجَلَدُوهُ بِالْجَرِيدِ وَالنِّعَالِ وَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ وَهَذَا يُحْتَمَلُ أَنْ يَكُونَ رُفِعَ إِلَيْهِ بَعْدَمَا ذَهَبَ سُكْرُهُ وَاللهُ أَعْلَمُ
