[Machine] He explained these four beverages and added that wine is made from grapes and sugar is made from dates. Abu Ubaid said, and also sugar cane. It has been narrated from Al-Ash'ari that the interpretation is that it is made from corn.  

البيهقي:١٧٣٨٦قَالَ أَبُو عُبَيْدٍ حَدَّثَنِيهِ أَبُو الْمُنْذِرِ إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْوَاسِطِيُّ عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ مِغْوَلٍ عَنْ أكيلٍ مُؤَذِّنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ

أَنَّهُ فَسَّرَ هَذِهِ الْأَرْبَعَةَ الْأَشْرِبَةَ وَزَادَ وَالْخَمْرُ مِنَ الْعِنَبِ وَالسَّكَرُ مِنَ التَّمْرِ قَالَ أَبُو عُبَيْدٍ وَمِنْهَا السُّكْرُكَةُ وَقَدْ رُوِيَ عَنِ الْأَشْعَرِيِّ التَّفْسِيرُ فَقَالَ إِنَّهُ مِنَ الذُّرَةِ
