[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out to us and said, "Would it not be fitting for one of you to inform me about any of my companions if they have said something? For I love to come to you while my heart is open." He said, "So a man came with some wealth and he distributed it." He said, "I heard two men saying, 'This distribution that he made is not pleasing to Allah nor to the Hereafter.'" He said, "So I understood what they were saying, then I came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, 'O Messenger of Allah, you said that no one should inform me about any of my companions if they have said something, for I love to come to you while my heart is open. And I heard so and so saying such and such.'" He said, "So his face turned red and he said, 'Leave us, for Musa was harmed more than this and he observed patience.'" The wording of the narration of Al-Kudaymi includes, "And the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'No one should inform me about any of my companions if they have said something, for I love to come to you while my heart is open,' and he did not mention what followed. Al-Suddi's chain of narration is weak. Ibn Abi Husayn also reported this narration from the Prophet ﷺ as a Mursal narration."

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to his companions, "Let no one inform me of anything concerning my companions. I prefer to come to you with a pure heart." He then said, "A person came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with some wealth. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ distributed it among the people. I passed by two individuals, and one of them said to his companion, 'By Allah, Muhammad did not intend for his portion to be for the sake of Allah's countenance or for the Hereafter.' I became firm and waited to hear what they would say. Then I went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, 'O Messenger of Allah, you told us that no one should inform you of anything concerning your companions. But I passed by so-and-so and so-and-so, and they were saying such and such.' The countenance of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ turned red and he became upset. Then he said, 'Leave me, for indeed, Musa (Moses) suffered more than this.'" The Prophet ﷺ then showed patience.
