[Machine] Whatever the Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not designate, I will designate. However, if Allah wants good for the people, He will gather them together for their own good just as He gathered them after their prophet ﷺ for their own good.  

البيهقي:١٦٥٧٣ – وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحُسَيْنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ بِشْرَانَ بِبَغْدَادَ أَنْبَأَ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الرُّزَازُ ثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَرْزُوقٍ ثَنَا شَبَابَةُ بْنُ سَوَّارٍ ثَنَا شُعَيْبُ بْنُ مَيْمُونٍ ثَنَا حُصَيْنُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ عَنْ شَقِيقِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ قَالَ قِيل لِعَلِيٍّ ؓ اسْتَخْلِفْ عَلَيْنَا فَقَالَ

مَا اسْتَخْلَفَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَأَسْتَخْلِفُ وَلَكِنْ إِنْ يُرِدِ اللهُ بِالنَّاسِ خَيْرًا جَمَعَهُمْ عَلَى خَيْرِهِمْ كَمَا جَمَعَهُمْ بَعْدَ نَبِيِّهِمْ ﷺ عَلَى خَيْرِهِمْ

«مَا اسْتَخْلَفَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَأَسْتَخْلِفُ وَلَكِنْ إِنْ يُرِدُ اللَّهُ بِالنَّاسِ خَيْرًا فَسَيَجْمَعَهُمْ بَعْدِي عَلَى خَيْرِهِمْ كَمَا جَمَعَهُمْ بَعْدَ نَبِيِّهِمْ عَلَى خَيْرِهِمْ»

"عَنْ أَبىِ وَائلٍ قَالَ: قِيل لِعَلىٍّ: أَلاَ تَسْتَخْلفُ، فَقَالَ: إِنَّ رسُولَ الله ﷺ لَم يَسْتَخْلِفْ، فَإِنْ يُرِدِ الله بِالنَّاسِ خَيْرًا فَسَيَجْمَعْهُمْ عَلَى خَيْرِهِمْ كَمَا جَمَعَهُمْ بَعْدَ نَبِيِّهِمْ عَلَى خيْرِهِم".
