[Machine] He said, "Indeed, a man may become so furious with the dowry that he may say, 'I am burdened with you like the sin of maintaining family ties'."  

البيهقي:١٤٣٤٨ – وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو طَاهِرٍ الْفَقِيهُ أنبأ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مُعَاوِيَةَ النَّيْسَابُورِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ وَارَةَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ بِالرِّيِّ فِي شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ سَنَةَ أَرْبَعٍ وَسِتِّينَ وَمِائَتَيْنِ حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ سَابِقٍ مِنْ كِتَابِهِ الْعَتِيقِ ثنا عَمْرٌو يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي قَيْسٍ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ السَّخْتِيَانِيِّ عَنِ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي الْعَجْفَاءِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ قَالَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ ؓ لَا تُغَالُوا بِمَهْرِ النِّسَاءِ فَذَكَرَهُ بِنَحْوِهِ مِنْ حَدِيثِ حَمَّادٍ إِلَّا

أَنَّهُ قَالَ إِنَّ الرَّجُلَ قَدْ يُغْلِي بِالْمَهْرِ حَتَّى يَقُولَ وَكُلِّفْتُ فِيكِ عِلْقَ الْقِرْبَةِ يَتَّخِذُهُ ذَنْبًا
