[Machine] When some of the daughters of the Prophet ﷺ were proposed to, he would send for them to come to Al-Khadr and say, "If such and such man has proposed to such and such woman, then if you approve, I will marry her to him, and if you do not approve, I will not marry her to him." And it was narrated from another perspective that the marriage proposal was sent from someone else.  

البيهقي:١٣٧٠٩وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حَمْشَاذٍ أَخْبَرَنِي يَزِيدُ بْنُ الْهَيْثَمِ أَنَّ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنَ أَبِي اللَّيْثِ حَدَّثَهُمْ ثنا الْأَشْجَعِيُّ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ هِشَامٍ الدَّسْتُوَائِيِّ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ عَنْ مُهَاجِرِ بْنِ عِكْرِمَةَ قَالَ

كَانَ إِذَا خُطِبَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ بَعْضُ بَنَاتِهِ أَتَى إِلَى الْخِدْرِ فَقَالَ إِنَّ فُلَانًا يَخْطُبُ فُلَانَةَ فَإِنْ حَرَّكَتْهُ لَمْ يُنْكِحْهَا وَإِنْ لَمْ تُحَرِّكْهُ أَنْكَحَهَا وَرُوِيَ مِنْ وَجْهٍ آخَرَ مُرْسَلًا

[Machine] When the Prophet ﷺ was informed that one of his daughters was proposed to, he came to Al-Khidr and said, "So and so is proposing to so and so." If she expressed her dislike by scratching the wall, he did not marry her off, but if she did not show any disapproval, he would marry her to him.

كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إِذَا خُطِبَ إِلَيْهِ بَعْضُ بَنَاتِهِ أَتَى الْخِدْرَ فَقَالَ «إِنَّ فُلَانًا يَخْطُبُ فُلَانَةَ» فَإِنْ طَعَنَتْ فِي الْحَائِطِ لَمْ يُزَوِّجْهَا وَإِنْ لَمْ تَطْعَنْ فِي الْجِدَارِ أَنْكَحَهَا
