[Machine] He said, "Umar ibn al-Khattab said, 'Do not sell gold for gold except equal to equal, and do not sell paper for paper except equal to equal, and do not sell paper for gold, one of which is absent and the other is present. And if he asks you to wait until he enters his house, do not wait for him except hand in hand.' And this, I fear for you the sin of usury."  

البيهقي:١٠٥١١ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ عُمَرَ الْمُقْرِئُ بِبَغْدَادَ أنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سَلْمَانَ النِّجَادُ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْهَيْثَمِ الْقَاضِي ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ حَدَّثَنِي سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ بِلَالٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ

أَنَّهُ قَالَ قَالَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ لَا تَبِيعُوا الذَّهَبَ بِالذَّهَبِ إِلَّا مِثْلًا بِمِثْلٍ وَلَا تَبِيعُوا الْوَرِقَ بِالْوَرِقِ إِلَّا مِثْلًا بِمِثْلٍ وَلَا تَبِيعُوا الْوَرِقَ بِالذَّهَبِ أَحَدُهُمَا غَائِبٌ وَالْآخَرُ نَاجِزٌ وَإنِ اسْتَنْظَرَكَ حَتَّى يَلِجَ بَيْتَهُ فَلَا تُنْظِرْهُ إِلَّا يَدًا بِيَدٍ هَاتِ وَهَذَا إِنِّي أَخْشَى عَلَيْكُمُ الرِّبَا

Yahya related to me from Malik from Nafi from Abdullah ibn Umar that Umar ibn al-Khattab said, "Do not sell gold for gold except like for like, and do not increase one part over another part. Do not sell silver for silver except like for like, and do not increase one part over another part. Do not sell silver for gold, one of them at hand and the other to be given later. If someone seeks to delay paying you until he has been to his house, do not leave him. I fear rama for you." Rama is usury.  

مالك:٣١-٣٥ – وَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ

قَالَ لاَ تَبِيعُوا الذَّهَبَ بِالذَّهَبِ إِلاَّ مِثْلاً بِمِثْلٍ وَلاَ تُشِفُّوا بَعْضَهَا عَلَى بَعْضٍ وَلاَ تَبِيعُوا الْوَرِقَ بِالْوَرِقِ إِلاَّ مِثْلاً بِمِثْلٍ وَلاَ تُشِفُّوا بَعْضَهَا عَلَى بَعْضٍ وَلاَ تَبِيعُوا الْوَرِقَ بِالذَّهَبِ أَحَدُهُمَا غَائِبٌ وَالآخَرُ نَاجِزٌ وَإِنِ اسْتَنْظَرَكَ إِلَى أَنْ يَلِجَ بَيْتَهُ فَلاَ تُنْظِرْهُ إِنِّي أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمُ الرَّمَاءَ وَالرَّمَاءُ هُوَ الرِّبَا

"عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ: قَالَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ: لا تَبِيعُوا الذَّهَبَ بالذهب إِلا مِثْلا بِمِثْلٍ، وَلا تَبِيعُوا الْوَرِق بالْوَرِقِ إِلا مِثْلا بِمِثْلٍ، وَلا تَبِيعُوا الْوَرِقَ بِالذَّهَبِ أَحَدُهُمَا غَائِبٌ وَالآخَرُ نَاجِزٌ، وَإِنِ اسْتَنْظَرَكَ حَتَّى يَلِجَ بَيْتَهُ فَلا تُنْظِرْهُ، إِلا يَدًا بِيَدٍ، هَاتِ وَهَاتِ، إِنِّى أَخْشَى عَلَيْكُمُ الرِّبَا، وَالرِّبَا هُوَ الرِّبَا".
