ahmad:4058 – Ibn Abū ʿAdī And Yazīd > Ibn ʿAwn > ʿAmr b. Saʿīd > Ḥumayd b. ʿAbd al-Raḥman

[Machine] "So I caught the end of his speech where he said, 'O Messenger of Allah, I am a man who has been given a portion of beauty that you can see. And I do not like anyone from the people to surpass me with two hairs or more. Isn't that injustice?' The Prophet said, 'That is not injustice. But injustice is when someone belittles the truth, rejects the truth, and disgraces the people.'"  

أحمد:٤٠٥٨ – حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ وَيَزِيدُ قَالَا أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ عَوْنٍ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ قَالَ قَالَ ابْنُ مَسْعُودٍ كُنْتُ لَا أُحْبَسُ عَنْ ثَلَاثٍ وَقَالَ ابْنُ عَوْنٍ فَنَسِيَ عَمْرٌو وَاحِدَةً وَنَسِيتُ أَنَا أُخْرَى وَبَقِيَتْ هَذِهِ عَنِ النَّجْوَى عَنْ كَذَا وَعَنْ كَذَا قَالَ فَأَتَيْتُهُ وَعِنْدَهُ مَالِكُ بْنُ مُرَارَةَ الرَّهَاوِيُّ قَالَ

فَأَدْرَكْتُ مِنْ آخِرِ حَدِيثِهِ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي رَجُلٌ قَدْ قُسِمَ لِي مِنَ الْجَمَالِ مَا تَرَى فَمَا أُحِبُّ أَنَّ أَحَدًا مِنَ النَّاسِ فَضَلَنِي بِشِرَاكَيْنِ فَمَا فَوْقَهُمَا أَفَلَيْسَ ذَلِكَ هُوَ الْبَغْيَ؟ قَالَ لَيْسَ ذَلِكَ بِالْبَغْيِ وَلَكِنَّ الْبَغْيَ مَنْ سَفِهَ الْحَقَّ أَوْ بَطِرَ الْحَقَّ وَغَمَطَ النَّاسَ

[Machine] So I went to him, and with him was Malik ibn Murarah al-Rahawi. I caught the end of his conversation with the Prophetﷺ where he was saying, "O Messenger of Allah, I have been given some of the best camels you can imagine. But I do not like that anyone from the people is given preference over me with two she-camels or more. Isn't this injustice?" The Prophetﷺ replied, "No, that is not injustice. Injustice is when you deprive someone of their right or insult the people."  

أحمد:٣٦٤٤ – حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ عَنْ ابْنِ عَوْنٍ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ قَالَقَالَ ابْنُ مَسْعُودٍ كُنْتُ لَا أُحْجَبُ عَنِ النَّجْوَى وَلَا عَنْ كَذَا وَلَا عَنْ كَذَا قَالَ ابْنُ عَوْنٍ فَنَسِيَ وَاحِدَةً وَنَسِيتُ أَنَا وَاحِدَةً قَالَ

فَأَتَيْتُهُ وَعِنْدَهُ مَالِكُ بْنُ مُرَارَةَ الرَّهَاوِيُّ فَأَدْرَكْتُ مِنْ آخِرِ حَدِيثِهِ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ قَدْ قُسِمَ لِي مِنَ الْجِمَالِ مَا تَرَى فَمَا أُحِبُّ أَنَّ أَحَدًا مِنَ النَّاسِ فَضَلَنِي بِشِرَاكَيْنِ فَمَا فَوْقَهُمَا أَفَلَيْسَ ذَلِكَ هُوَ الْبَغْيُ؟ قَالَ لَا لَيْسَ ذَلِكَ بِالْبَغْيِ وَلَكِنَّ الْبَغْيَ مَنْ بَطِرَ قَالَ أَوْ قَالَ سَفِهَ الْحَقَّ وَغَمَطَ النَّاسَ

I caught the end of his conversation where he said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have been blessed with beauty that surpasses what you can see, and I do not want anyone to exceed me in their footwear. Is that considered wrongdoing?" The Messenger of Allah said, "That is not considered wrongdoing, but wrongdoing is when one rejects the truth or belittles it and belittles people."  

الحاكم:٧٣٦٧ – فَحَدَّثَنَاهُ أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى ثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الْقَطِيعِيُّ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى الصَّنْعَانِيُّ قَالَا ثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ الْمُفَضَّلِ ثَنَا ابْنُ عَوْنٍ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ قَالَ قَالَ ابْنُ مَسْعُودٍ كُنْتُ لَا أُحْجَبُ أَوْ قَالَ كُنْتُ لَا أُحْبَسُ عَنْ ثَلَاثٍ عَنِ النَّجْوَى وَعَنْ كَذَا وَكَذَا قَالَ

فَأَتَيْتُهُ وَعِنْدَهُ مَالِكُ بْنُ مُرَارَةَ الرَّهَاوِيُّ فَأَدْرَكْتُ مِنْ آخِرِ حَدِيثِهِ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَدْ أُعْطِيتُ مِنَ الْجَمَالِ مَا تَرَى وَمَا أُحِبُّ أَنَّ أَحَدًا يَفُوقُنِي بِشِرَاكِ نَعْلِي أَفَذَاكَ مِنَ الْبَغْيِ؟ قَالَ لَيْسَ ذَلِكَ مِنَ الْبَغْيِ وَلَكِنَّ الْبَغْيَ مَنْ بَطَرَ الْحَقَّ أَوْ قَالَ سَفَّهَ الْحَقَّ وَغَمَطَ النَّاسَ  

«هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحُ الْإِسْنَادِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ» صحيح
