[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed by a man and saw his thigh uncovered, so he said, "Cover your thigh, for indeed the thigh of a man is part of his 'awrah." Al-Dhahabi remained silent regarding this in his summary.
[Machine] "I came to the Prophet ﷺ while I was in a disheveled state and he said, 'Do you have any wealth?' I said, 'Yes.' He asked, 'Of what kind?' I said, 'Of all kinds, including camels, slaves, horses, and sheep.' He said, 'If Allah gives you wealth, let it be seen on you.' Then he said, 'Your people's camels will produce healthy offspring, so intentionally go to the one that belongs to Moosa and sever its ears, declaring it to be a Bahira, and slit its hump or cut its skin, declaring it to be a Surma, and thus prohibit it for you and your family?' I said, 'Yes.' He said, 'Whatever Allah has given you is lawful, and Moosa repelled an act of aggression from Allah worse than what you did, and Moosa is no better than you.' I asked, 'O Messenger of Allah, what do you say about a man whom I visited, but he did not honor me nor host me, but then he was visited by me and I honored and hosted him?' He said, 'You should honor him.'"
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "Indeed, Allah is beautiful and He loves beauty." Al-Hakim wrote in his handwriting, "Here, it is emphasized by its length." Adh-Dhahabi remained silent about summarizing from this context.
A man who was beautiful came to the Prophet ﷺ. He said: Messenger of Allah, I am a man who likes beauty, and I have been given some of it, as you see. And I do not like that anyone excels me (in respect of beauty). Perhaps he said: "even to the extent of thong of my sandal (shirak na'li)", or he he said: "to the extent of strap of my sandal (shis'i na'li)". Is it pride? He replied: No, pride is disdaining what is true and despising people. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4092)
[Machine] So I went to him and with him was Malik ibn Murarah al-Rahawi. I caught the end of his conversation where he said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have been blessed with beauty that surpasses what you can see, and I do not want anyone to exceed me in their footwear. Is that considered wrongdoing?" The Messenger of Allah said, "That is not considered wrongdoing, but wrongdoing is when one rejects the truth or belittles it and belittles people."
[Machine] When the Haruriyah (a religious group) left, they gathered in a house and they were six thousand. So, I went to Ali (may God be pleased with him) and said, "O Commander of the Faithful, calm down with prayer so that I may come to these people and talk to them." He said, "I fear for you." I said, "No." So, I went to them wearing the finest Yemeni attire. Abu Zumayl (a companion) said, "Abdullah bin Abbas (a companion) was handsome and prominent." Ibn Abbas said, "So I went to them while they were gathered in a house and they were saying. I greeted them and they said, "Welcome, O Ibn Abbas. What is this attire?" I said, "Why do you criticize me? I have seen the Messenger of Allah ﷺ wearing the finest attire." And I recited the verse, "Say, 'Who has forbidden the adornment of Allah which He has produced for His servants and the good [lawful] things of provision?'" [Surah Al-A'raf 7:32] Then I mentioned the famous debate of Ibn Abbas with them.
[Machine] Jabir, we went out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in some of his military expeditions. A man came out wearing two torn garments, wanting to drive the camels. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him, "Doesn't he have any other garments?" It was said to him, "In his possession are two new garments." He said, "Bring them to me." So they brought them to him. He said to the man, "Take these two garments and wear them, and discard the torn ones." The man did as he was told, and then he proceeded with the camels. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ looked at his tracks, amazed at his miserliness towards himself with the two garments. He said to him, "May Allah strike your neck!" The man turned to him and said, "I am fighting in the cause of Allah." He was later killed on the day of Yamamah.
[Machine] "My father used to sit with Abu Darda in Damascus, and there was a man from the companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ from the Ansar, called Ibn al-Hanzaliyyah. He used to isolate himself and rarely socialize with people. He would only engage in prayer, and when he finished, he would engage in glorifying and praising Allah until he returned to his family. One day, he passed by us while we were with Abu Darda, and he greeted us. Abu Darda said, 'There is a word that benefits us and does not harm you.' He said, 'What is it?' Abu Darda replied, 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "You are coming to your brothers, so prepare your clothes and mend your means of transport, so that you appear as something good among people. Indeed, Allah does not like obscenity and vulgar speech."' "
[Machine] "From the Prophet ﷺ, he said: 'Whoever abandons wearing clothes that he is able to wear out of humility for Allah Almighty, Allah Almighty will summon him on the Day of Judgment with the leaders of creation, allowing him to choose from the adornments of faith to wear whichever he wishes.'"
"They (meaning the people in general) told me that I was proud, while I rode a donkey, wore a cloak, and I milked the sheep. And the Messenger of Allah said to me: "Whoever does these, then there is no pride (arrogance) in him.'" (Using translation from Tirmidhī 2001)
“Umar bin ‘Abdul-‘Aziz sent for me and I came to him upon the riding animal prepared for swift mail delivery. When I came to him, he said: ‘We have caused you some trouble O Abu Sallam.’ He said: ‘Yes, by Allah, O Commander of the Believers!’ He said: ‘By Allah, we did not want to cause you any hardship, but there is a Hadith which I have heard that you narrate from Thawban, the freed slave of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, concerning the Cistern, and I wanted to hear it directly from you.’ He said: “I said: ‘Thawban, the freed slave of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, told me that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “My Cistern is (wider than) the distance between Ailah and ‘Aden. It is whiter than milk and sweeter than honey, and its cups are as many as the stars in the sky. Whoever drinks from it will never feel thirst again. The first ones who come to drink from it will be the poor Muhajirin, with dirty clothes and disheveled hair, who do not marry refined women and for whom no doors are opened.” ‘Umar wept until his beard became wet, then he said: ‘But I have married refined women and doors have been opened for me. Certainly I will not wash the clothes that are on my body until they become dirt, and I will not comb my hair until it becomes disheveled.’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 4303)

"The Messenger of Allah [SAW] said: 'You should wear white garments; dress your living ones in them, and shroud your dead in them, for they are among the best of your garments.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5323)
