ahmad:3475 – ʿAbd al-Razzāq And Ibn Bakr > Ibn Jurayj > Akhbaranīʿubayd Allāh b. Abū Yazīd > Ibn ʿAbbās

[Machine] He heard Ibn Abbas saying, "I haven't known the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to fast a day seeking its excellence over others, except for the Day of Ashura or Ramadan." He said, "The soul or the month of Ramadan."  

أحمد:٣٤٧٥ – حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ وَابْنُ بَكْرٍ قَالَا أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِيعُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَبِي يَزِيدَ

[Machine] I heard Ibn Abbas say, "I never saw the Prophet ﷺ fasting a day seeking its reward over other days except for the day of Ashura. Sufyan also said on another occasion, 'Except for this day,' referring to the day of Ashura, 'and this month,' referring to the month of Ramadan."  

أحمد:١٩٣٨ – حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَبِي يَزِيدَ مُنْذُ سَبْعِينَ سَنَةً قَالَ

سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ يَقُولُ مَا عَلِمْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ صَامَ يَوْمًا يَتَحَرَّى فَضْلَهُ عَلَى الْأَيَّامِ غَيْرَ يَوْمِ عَاشُورَاءَ وَقَالَ سُفْيَانُ مَرَّةً أُخْرَى إِلا هَذَا الْيَوْمَ يَعْنِي عَاشُورَاءَ وَهَذَا الشَّهْرَ شَهْرَ رَمَضَانَ
