I asked Ibn Abbas it one should apply to oneself perfume or oil which is available with his wife. He (Ibn Abbas) said: I do not know of it. (Using translation from Muslim 848a)  

أحمد:٣٤٧١حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ قَالَا أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مَيْسَرَةَ عَنْ طَاوُسٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ

أَنَّهُ ذَكَرَ قَوْلَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فِي الْغُسْلِ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ قَالَ طَاوُسٌ فَقُلْتُ لِابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ وَيَمَسُّ طِيبًا أَوْ دُهْنًا إِنْ كَانَ عِنْدَ أَهْلِهِ؟ قَالَ لَا أَعْلَمُهُ

Ibn ʿAbbas mentioned the statement of the Prophet ﷺ regarding the taking of a bath on Friday and then I asked him whether the Prophet ﷺ had ordered perfume or (hair) oil to be used if they could be found in one's house. He (Ibn ʿAbbas) replied that he did not know about it.

[Machine] He mentioned the saying of the Prophet ﷺ about washing on Friday, so I asked Ibn Abbas, "Can someone use perfume or oil if they have it?" He replied, "I do not know."
