ahmad:275 – ʿAbd al-Raḥman > Sufyān And ʿAbd al-Razzāq > Sufyān > Abū Isḥāq > ʿAmr b. Maymūn Qālaqāl ʿUmar > ʿAbd al-Razzāq > ʿUmar

ʿUmar said [and ‘Abdur-Razzaq said: I heard ʿUmar]: The mushrikeen used not to depart from Jamʿ until the sun had risen on (the mountain of) Thabeer [Abdur Razzaq said:], and they used to say, Shine, Thabeer, so that we may leave quickly. So the Prophet ﷺ differed from them and departed before the sun rose.  

أحمد:٢٧٥ – حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ وَعَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ قَالَقَالَ عُمَرُ قَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ

سَمِعْتُ عُمَرَ إِنَّ الْمُشْرِكِينَ كَانُوا لَا يُفِيضُونَ مِنْ جَمْعٍ حَتَّى تُشْرِقَ الشَّمْسُ عَلَى ثَبِيرٍ قَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ وَكَانُوا يَقُولُونَ أَشْرِقْ ثَبِيرُ كَيْمَا نُغِيرُ يَعْنِي فَخَالَفَهُمُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَدَفَعَ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ

bukhari:3838 – ʿAmr b. ʿAbbās > ʿAbd al-Raḥman > Sufyān > Abū Isḥāq > ʿAmr b. Maymūn > ʿUmar

The pagans used not to leave Jam' (i.e. Muzdalifa) till the sun had risen on Thabir mountain. The Prophet contradicted them by leaving (Muzdalifa) before the sun rose.

“We performed Hajj with ‘Umar bin Khattab, and when we wanted to depart from Muzdalifah, he said: ‘The idolators used to say: “May the sun rise over you, O Thabir!* So that we may begin our journey (to Mina),” and they did not depart until the sun had risen.’ So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ differed from them by departing before the sun rose.”  

ابن ماجة:٣٠٢٢ – حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَالِدٍ الأَحْمَرُ عَنْ حَجَّاجٍ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ قَالَ حَجَجْنَا مَعَ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ فَلَمَّا أَرَدْنَا أَنْ نُفِيضَ مِنَ الْمُزْدَلِفَةِ قَالَ

إِنَّ الْمُشْرِكِينَ كَانُوا يَقُولُونَ أَشْرِقْ ثَبِيرُ كَيْمَا نُغِيرُ وَكَانُوا لاَ يُفِيضُونَ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ فَخَالَفَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَأَفَاضَ قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ الشَّمْسِ

l heard ʿUmar bin al Khattab say: The people of Jahiliyyah used not to move on from Jamʿ until they saw the sun shining on (the mountain of) Thabeer, and they would say: Shine Thabeer, then we will move on swiftly. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ moved on before the sun rose.  

أحمد:٢٩٥ – حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا الثَّوْرِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ

ahmad:358 – Muḥammad b. Jaʿfar > Shuʿbah And ʾAbū Dāwud > Shuʿbah > Abū Isḥāq > ʿAmr b. Maymūn Qālaṣallá ʿUmar al-Ṣubḥ Wahū Bijamʿ

ʿUmar ؓ prayed Fajr when he was in Jamʿ. Abu Dawood said: We were with ʿUmar in Jamo, and he said: The mustrikoort used not to move on until the sun rose, and they would say: Shine, (Mount) Thabeer. The Prophet ﷺ of Allah differed from them and moved on before the sun rose.  

أحمد:٣٥٨ – حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ وَأَبُو دَاوُدَ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ قَالَصَلَّى عُمَرُ الصُّبْحَ وَهُوَ بِجَمْعٍ قَالَ

أَبُو دَاوُدَ كُنَّا مَعَ عُمَرَ بِجَمْعٍ فَقَالَ إِنَّ الْمُشْرِكِينَ كَانُوا لَا يُفِيضُونَ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ وَيَقُولُونَ أَشْرِقْ ثَبِيرُ وَإِنَّ نَبِيَّ اللهِ ﷺ خَالَفَهُمْ فَأَفَاضَ قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ الشَّمْسِ
