[Machine] She came with her son, and she had hung a necklace on him. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to her, "Why do you hang your children with this necklace?" He then said to her, "You should use this Indian wood, as it has seven healing properties, including the healing of the side. Then, he took the child and blew into his mouth and called for water to clean him. Ibn Shihab said, "This became the practice after that."  

أحمد:٢٧٠٠٤حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الزُّهْرِيُّ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍعَنْ أُمِّ قَيْسٍ بِنْتِ مِحْصَنٍ

أَنَّهَا جَاءَتْ بِابْنٍ لَهَا وَقَدْ أَعْلَقَتْ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ الْعُذْرَةِ فَقَالَ لَهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَلَامَ تَدْغَرْنَ أَوْلَادَكُنَّ بِهَذِهِ الْعُلُقِ؟ عَلَيْكُمْ بِهَذَا الْعُودِ الْهِنْدِيِّ فَإِنَّ فِيهِ سَبْعَةَ أَشْفِيَةٍ مِنْهَا ذَاتُ الْجَنْبِ ثُمَّ أَخَذَ الصَّبِيَّ فَبَالَ عَلَيْهِ فَدَعَا بِمَاءٍ فَنَضَحَهُ قَالَ ابْنُ شِهَابٍ مَضَتِ السُّنَّةُ بِذَلِكَ

that she took to Messenger of Allah ﷺ one of her sons whose palate and tonsils she had pressed to treat a throat trouble. The Prophet ﷺ said, "Be afraid of Allah! Why do you pain your children by having their tonsils pressed like that? Use the Ud Al-Hindi (a certain Indian incense) for it cures seven diseases, one of which is pleurisy."

I visited Messenger of Allah ﷺ along with my son who had not, by that time, been weaned and he urinated over his (clothes). He ordered water to be brought and sprinkled (it) over them. She (further) said: I visited him (Allah's Apostle) along with my son and I had squeezed the swelling in the uvula, whereupon he said: Why do you afflict your children by compressing like this? Use this Indian aloeswood, for it contains seven types of remedies, one among them being a remedy for pleurisy. It is applied through the nose for a swelling of the uvula and poured into the side of the mouth for pleurisy.

I brought my son to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while I had compressed his uvula for its swelling. He said : Why do you afflict your children by squeezing for a swelling in the Uvula ? [Machine] Narrated Umm Qais bint Mihsan al-Asadiyya, the sister of Ukkasha: "I came to the Prophet ﷺ with my son whom I had weaned, fearing that he might have an excuse. The Prophet ﷺ said, 'Why do you not rear your children on these?" pointing to his necklace. He meant the Kushth (a type of wood) which has seven knots on it, of which the thickest is in the middle, and he ﷺ took my child and placed him in the middle knot."

[Machine] Um Qais bint Muhsin, who was one of the early female migrants who pledged allegiance to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , and she was the sister of Ukkashah ibn Muhsin. She informed me that she came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with her son who had not eaten food and was suffering from constipation. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Why do you tie your children with this suspension? Use this Indian oud (a piece of wood) known as the costus, as it has seven healing properties, including the one for constipation."  

ابن حبّان:٦٠٧٠أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ قُتَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا يُونُسُ أَنَّ ابْنَ شِهَابٍ أَخْبَرَهُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُتْبَةَ

أَنَّ أُمَّ قَيْسِ بِنْتَ مِحْصَنٍ وَكَانَتْ مِنَ الْمُهَاجِرَاتِ الْأُوَلِ اللَّاتِي بَايَعْنَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَهِيَ أُخْتُ عُكَّاشَةَ بْنِ مِحْصَنٍ أَخْبَرَتْنِي أَنَّهَا أَتَتْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ بِابْنٍ لَهَا لَمْ يَأْكُلِ الطَّعَامَ وَقَدْ أَعْلَقَتْ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ الْعُذْرَةِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «عَلَامَ تَدْغَرْنَ أَوْلَادَكُنَّ بِهَذَا الْإِعْلَاقِ؟ عَلَيْكُنَّ بِهَذَا الْعُودِ الْهِنْدِيِّ يَعْنِي بِهِ الْكُسْتَ فَإِنَّ فِيهِ سَبْعَةَ أَشْفِيَةٍ مِنْهَا ذَاتُ الْجَنْبِ»

[Machine] She brought her little son to the Messenger of Allah, may ﷺ , and he had a urinary problem. The Messenger of Allah, may ﷺ , asked, "What do you call your children with these attachments?" He meant the Indian wood known as "Qist". He said, "Indeed, it has seven healing properties, including the side pain." Ubaidullah said, "Um Qais informed me that her son was suffering from a stone in the Prophet's room, so the Messenger of Allah, may ﷺ , prayed for water and poured it on his urine and did not wash it."

أَنَّهَا أَتَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ بِابْنٍ لَهَا صَغِيرٍ قَدْ عَلَّقَتْ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ الْعُذْرَةَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَلَى مَ تَدْعُونَ أَوْلَادَكُنَّ بِهَذِهِ الْعَلَائِقِ عَلَيْكُنَّ بِهَذَا الْعُودِ الْهِنْدِيِّ يَعْنِي الْقُسْطَ فَإِنَّ فِيهِ سَبْعَةَ أَشْفِيَةٍ مِنْهَا ذَاتُ الْجَنْبِ قَالَ عُبَيْدُ اللهِ وَأَخْبَرَتْنِي أُمُّ قَيْسٍ أَنَّ ابْنَهَا بَالَ فِي حِجْرِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَدَعَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِمَاءٍ فَصَبَّهُ عَلَى بَوْلِهِ وَلَمْ يَغْسِلْهُ
