[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Indeed, fever is from the heat of Hell, so cool it with water." Ibrahim said, "I have not heard anything from Hisham except this one hadith."  

أحمد:٢٤٥٩٨ – حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ الْهَاشِمِيُّ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِعَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّ الْحُمَّى مِنْ فَيْحِ جَهَنَّمَ فَأَبْرِدُوهَا بِالْمَاءِ قَالَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ لَمْ أَسْمَعْ مِنْ هِشَامٍ شَيْئًا إِلَّا هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ الْوَاحِدَ

Fever is from the vehement raging of the fire of Hell, so extinguish it with water. (Using translation from Muslim 2209c)   

الحاكم:٨٢٢٨ – حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ صَالِحِ بْنِ هَانِئٍ ثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ الْبَجَلِيُّ ثَنَا عَفَّانُ ثَنَا هَمَّامٌ ثَنَا أَبُو حَمْزَةَ قَالَ كُنْتُ أَدْفَعُ الزِّحَامَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ فَاحْتَبَسْتُ عَنْهُ أَيَّامًا فَقَالَ مَا حَبَسَكَ؟ قُلْتُ الْحُمَّى فَقَالَ

إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «الْحُمَّى مِنْ فَيْحِ جَهَنَّمَ فَأَبْرِدُوهَا بِالْمَاءِ»  

هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ الشَّيْخَيْنِ وَلَمْ يُخْرِجَاهُ بِهَذِهِ الزِّيَادَةِ على شرط البخاري ومسلم

I used to sit with Ibn ʿAbbas in Mecca. Once I had a fever and he said (to me), "Cool your fever with Zamzam water, for Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'It, (the Fever) is from the heat of the (Hell) Fire; so, cool it with water (or Zamzam water). (Using translation from Bukhārī 3261)  

الطبراني:٤٣٩٧ – حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ ثَوْرٍ الْجُذَامِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ الْفِرْيَابِيُّ ثنا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَبَايَةَ بْنِ رِفَاعَةَ عَنْ رَافِعِ بْنِ خَدِيجٍ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «الْحُمَّى مِنْ فَيْحِ جَهَنَّمَ فَأَبْرِدُوهَا بِالْمَاءِ»  

tabarani:4400 – ʿAbdān b. Aḥmad > Muḥammad b. ʿAbdullāh b. Numayr > Muṣʿab b. al-Miqdām > Isrāʾīl > Saʿīd b. Masrūq > ʿAbāyah b. Rifāʿah > Rāfiʿ b. Khadīj

I heard Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Fever is from the heat of Hell, so abate fever with water." (Using translation from Bukhārī 5726)
