[Machine] Gabriel trapped the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said to him, "What is holding you back?" He said, "We do not enter a house in which there is a dog."  

أحمد:٢٢٩٨٧ – حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدٌ هُوَ ابْنُ الْحُبَابِ حَدَّثَنِي حُسَيْنُ بْنُ وَاقِدٍ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ بُرَيْدَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ

احْتَبَسَ جِبْرِيلُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ لَهُ مَا حَبَسَكَ؟ قَالَ إِنَّا لَا نَدْخُلُ بَيْتًا فِيهِ كَلْبٌ

Once Gabriel promised the Prophet (that he would visit him, but Gabriel did not come) and later on he said, "We, angels, do not enter a house which contains a picture or a dog."  

البخاري:٣٢٢٧ – حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ وَهْبٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عُمَرُ عَنْ سَالِمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ
