The Prophet ﷺ said: The Caliphate of Prophecy will last thirty years; then Allah will give the Kingdom of His Kingdom to anyone He wills. Sa'id told that Safinah said to him: Calculate Abu Bakr's caliphate as two years, 'Umar's as ten, 'Uthman's as twelve and 'Ali so and so. Sa'id said: I said to Safinah: They conceive that 'Ali was not a caliph. He replied: The buttocks of Marwan told a lie.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ خِلاَفَةُ النُّبُوَّةِ ثَلاَثُونَ سَنَةً ثُمَّ يُؤْتِي اللَّهُ الْمُلْكَ أَوْ مُلْكَهُ مَنْ يَشَاءُ قَالَ سَعِيدٌ قَالَ لِي سَفِينَةُ أَمْسِكْ عَلَيْكَ أَبَا بَكْرٍ سَنَتَيْنِ وَعُمَرَ عَشْرًا وَعُثْمَانَ اثْنَتَىْ عَشْرَةَ وَعَلِيٌّ كَذَا قَالَ سَعِيدٌ قُلْتُ لِسَفِينَةَ إِنَّ هَؤُلاَءِ يَزْعُمُونَ أَنَّ عَلِيًّا عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ لَمْ يَكُنْ بِخَلِيفَةٍ قَالَ كَذَبَتْ أَسْتَاهُ بَنِي الزَّرْقَاءِ يَعْنِي بَنِي مَرْوَانَ

The caliphate of Prophecy will last thirty years; then Allah will give the Kingdom to whom he wishes; or his kingdom to whom he wishes.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ خِلاَفَةُ النُّبُوَّةِ ثَلاَثُونَ سَنَةً ثُمَّ يُؤْتِي اللَّهُ الْمُلْكَ مَنْ يَشَاءُ أَوْ مُلْكَهُ مَنْ يَشَاءُ

"Safinah narrated to me, he said: 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Al-Khilafah will be in my Ummah for thirty years, then there will be monarchy after that."' Then Safinah said to me: 'Count the Khilafah of Abu Bakr,' then he said: 'Count the Khilafah of 'Umar and the Khilafah of 'Uthman.' Then he said to me: 'Count the Khilafah of 'Ali."' He said: "So we found that they add up to thirty years." Sa'eed said: "I said to him: 'Banu Umaiyyah claim that the Khilafah is among them.' He said: 'Banu Az-Zarqa' lie, rather they are a monarchy, among the worst of monarchies."'

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ الْخِلاَفَةُ فِي أُمَّتِي ثَلاَثُونَ سَنَةً ثُمَّ مُلْكٌ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ ثُمَّ قَالَ لِي سَفِينَةُ أَمْسِكْ خِلاَفَةَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ وَخِلاَفَةَ عُمَرَ وَخِلاَفَةَ عُثْمَانَ ثُمَّ قَالَ لِي أَمْسِكْ خِلاَفَةَ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ فَوَجَدْنَاهَا ثَلاَثِينَ سَنَةً قَالَ سَعِيدٌ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ إِنَّ بَنِي أُمَيَّةَ يَزْعُمُونَ أَنَّ الْخِلاَفَةَ فِيهِمْ قَالَ كَذَبُوا بَنُو الزَّرْقَاءِ بَلْ هُمْ مُلُوكٌ مِنْ شَرِّ الْمُلُوكِ

قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ الْخِلَافَةُ بَعْدِي ثَلَاثُونَ سَنَةً ثُمَّ قَالَ لِي سَفِينَةُ أَمْسِكْ لِأَبِي بَكْرٍ سَنَتَيْنِ وَلِعُمَرَ عَشْرًا وَلِعُثْمَانَ اثْنَيْ عَشَرَ وَلِعَلِيٍّ سِتًّا

[AI] From the ship of Mawla (servant) of the Prophet ﷺ , from the Prophet ﷺ , he said, "The caliphate will last for thirty years, then it will become a kingdom." He said, "Hold on to two (caliphs) Abu Bakr and ten (caliphs) Umar, and twelve (caliphs) Uthman, and six (caliphs) Ali."

عَنْ سَفِينَةَ مَوْلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «الْخِلَافَةُ ثَلَاثُونَ سَنَةً ثُمَّ يَكُونُ مُلْكًا» قَالَ «أمْسَكَ ثِنْتَيْنِ أَبُو بَكْرٍ وَعَشْرًا عُمَرُ وَاثْنَتَيْ عَشْرَةَ عُثْمَانُ وَسِتًّا عَلِيٌّ ؓ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The caliphate after me in my nation will be for thirty years." He said, "So we counted and found Abu Bakr for two years, and Umar for ten, and Uthman for twelve, and Ali for six."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «الْخِلَافَةُ بَعْدِي فِي أُمَّتِي ثَلَاثُونَ سَنَةً» قَالَ فَحَسِبْنَا فَوَجَدْنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ سَنَتَيْنِ وَعُمَرُ عَشْرٍ وَعُثْمَانُ اثْنَتَيْ عَشْرَةَ وَعَلِيٌّ سِتٍّ ؓ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said, "The caliphate will be among my nation for thirty years, then there will be kingship after that." Then he said to me, "Hold on to the ship." So I held on to the caliphate of Abu Bakr, the caliphate of Umar, the caliphate of Uthman, and the caliphate of Ali, may Allah be pleased with them. And I found it to be thirty years.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «الْخِلَافَةُ بَيْنَ أُمَّتِي ثَلَاثُونَ سَنَةً ثُمَّ مُلْكٌ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ» ثُمَّ قَالَ لِي سَفِينَةُ أَمْسِكْ فَأَمْسَكْتُ خِلَافَةَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ وَخِلَافَةَ عُمَرَ وَخِلَافَةَ عُثْمَانَ وَخِلَافَةَ عَلِيٍّ ؓ فَوَجَدْتُهَا ثَلَاثِينَ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The caliphate of prophethood will last for thirty years, then Allah will give it to whomever He wills, or He will give His kingdom to whomever He wills." Sa'id said, "Abu Bakr held it for two years, and 'Umar held it for ten years, and 'Uthman held it for twelve years, and 'Ali held it for six years."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «خِلَافَةُ النُّبُوَّةِ ثَلَاثُونَ سَنَةً ثُمَّ يُؤْتِي اللهُ مَنْ يَشَاءُ أَوْ قَالَ مُلْكَهُ مَنْ يَشَاءُ» قَالَ سَعِيدٌ «أَمْسَكَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ سَنَتَيْنِ وَعُمَرُ عَشْرًا وَعُثْمَانُ ثِنْتَيْ عَشْرَةَ وَعَلِيٌّ سِتًّا»
