[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Whoever unlawfully takes the property of a Muslim, he will meet Allah while He is angry with him." Ash'ath ibn Qays came and said: "What is Abu Abdul Rahman telling you?" They said: "He is narrating (hadith) to us." He said: "In fact, this hadith was the subject of my dispute with my cousin before the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in a well that belonged to me and was in his possession. He denied my claim, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me: 'Produce evidence that it is your well; otherwise, his oath will be affirmed.' I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, I have no evidence, and if you allow him to keep it in his possession, my well will be lost, as my adversary is a transgressor.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Whoever unlawfully takes the property of a Muslim, he will meet Allah while He is angry with him.' And the Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited this verse: 'Indeed, those who exchange the covenant of Allah.' [Al-Imran: 77]."
