[Machine] The Prophet of Allah ﷺ said, "Guard the prayers" [2:238]. He ﷺ also described the prayer as "the middle prayer" [2:238]. And he named it for us, that it is the Asr prayer.  

أحمد:٢٠٠٩١ – حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ وَعَفَّانُ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا أَبَانُ حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ سَمُرَةَ

أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ {حَافِظُوا عَلَى الصَّلَوَاتِ} [البقرة 238] قَالَ عَفَّانُ الصَّلَاةِ {وَالصَّلَاةِ الْوُسْطَى} [البقرة 238] وَسَمَّاهَا لَنَا أَنَّهَا هِيَ صَلَاةُ الْعَصْرِ
