Good deeds of Hatim al-Tai

ahmad:19386Muʾammal > Sufyān > Simāk b. Ḥarb > Muray b. Qaṭarī > ʿAdī b. Ḥātim

[Machine] I said, "O Messenger of Allah, my father used to maintain family ties and do good deeds. Does he receive any reward for that?" He replied, "Indeed, your father sought something, and he achieved it."  

أحمد:١٩٣٨٦حَدَّثَنَا مُؤَمَّلٌ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ عَنْ مُرَيِّ بْنِ قَطَرِيٍّ عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ حَاتِمٍ قَالَ

قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ أَبِي كَانَ يَصِلُ الرَّحِمَ وَيَفْعَلُ وَيَفْعَلُ فَهَلْ لَهُ فِي ذَلِكَ يَعْنِي مِنْ أَجْرٍ؟ قَالَ إِنَّ أَبَاكَ طَلَبَ أَمْرًا فَأَصَابَهُ
