(and he was not a liar) When Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Samiʿa l-lahu liman hamidah" none of us bent his back (for prostration) till the Prophet ﷺ prostrated and then we would prostrate after him.

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا قَالَ سَمِعَ اللَّهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ لَمْ يَحْنِ أَحَدٌ مِنَّا ظَهْرَهُ حَتَّى يَقَعَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ سَاجِدًا ثُمَّ نَقَعُ سُجُودًا بَعْدَهُ

Anas used to demonstrate to us the prayer of the Prophet ﷺ and while demonstrating, he used to raise his head from bowing and stand so long that we would say that he had forgotten (the prostration).

كَانَ أَنَسٌ يَنْعَتُ لَنَا صَلاَةَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَكَانَ يُصَلِّي وَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ قَامَ حَتَّى نَقُولَ قَدْ نَسِيَ

When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Allah listened to him who praised Him, none of us bent his back till he (the Holy Prophet) prostrated; we then, afterwards, went down in prostration.

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا قَالَ سَمِعَ اللَّهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ لَمْ يَحْنِ أَحَدٌ مِنَّا ظَهْرَهُ حَتَّى يَقَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ سَاجِدًا ثُمَّ نَقَعُ سُجُودًا بَعْدَهُ

كُنَّا إِذَا صَلَّيْنَا خَلْفَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَرَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ لَمْ يَحْنِ رَجُلٌ مِنَّا ظَهْرَهُ حَتَّى يَسْجُدَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَنَسْجُدَ قَالَ وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ أَنَسٍ وَمُعَاوِيَةَ وَابْنِ مَسْعَدَةَ صَاحِبِ الْجُيُوشِ وَأَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

"I heard 'Abdullah bin Yazid delivering a Khutbah. He said: 'Al-Bara, who was no liar,told us that when they prayed with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would raise his head from bowing and they would remain standing until they saw him prostrate, then they would prostrate."'

حَدَّثَنَا الْبَرَاءُ وَكَانَ غَيْرَ كَذُوبٍ أَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا إِذَا صَلَّوْا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَرَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ قَامُوا قِيَامًا حَتَّى يَرَوْهُ سَاجِدًا ثُمَّ سَجَدُوا
