[Machine] What is the matter with this cry in Islam? A man from the Ansar died and people wailed over him. He said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, 'Verily, lying about me is not like lying about anyone else. So whoever lies about me deliberately, let him take his place in Hell.' I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, 'Indeed, the one whom people wail over will be punished because of the wailing."  

أحمد:١٨٢٠٢ – حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَلِيَّ بْنَ رَبِيعَةَ قَالَ شَهِدْتُ الْمُغِيرَةَ بْنَ شُعْبَةَ خَرَجَ يَوْمًا فَرَقِيَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ فَحَمِدَ اللهَ وَأَثْنَى عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ

مَا بَالُ هَذَا النَّوْحِ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ وَكَانَ مَاتَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ فَنِيحَ عَلَيْهِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ إِنَّ كَذِبًا عَلَيَّ لَيْسَ كَكَذِبٍ عَلَى أَحَدٍ فَمَنْ كَذَبَ عَلَيَّ مُتَعَمِّدًا فَلْيَتَبَوَّأْ مَقْعَدَهُ مِنَ النَّارِ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ إِنَّهُ مَنْ نِيحَ عَلَيْهِ يُعَذَّبْ بِمَا نِيحَ عَلَيْهِ

I heard the Prophet ﷺ saying, "Ascribing false things to me is not like ascribing false things to anyone else. Whosoever tells a lie against me intentionally then surely let him occupy his seat in Hell-Fire." I heard the Prophet ﷺ saying, "The deceased who is wailed over is tortured for that wailing."  

البخاري:١٢٩١ – حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ؛ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ؛ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ؛ عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ ؓ قَالَ

سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ: «إِنَّ كَذِبًا عَلَىَّ لَيْسَ كَكَذِبٍ عَلَى أَحَدٍ، مَنْ كَذَبَ عَلَىَّ مُتَعَمِّدًا فَلْيَتَبَوَّأْ مَقْعَدَهُ مِنَ النَّارِ۔» سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ: «مَنْ نِيحَ عَلَيْهِ يُعَذَّبُ بِمَا نِيحَ عَلَيْهِ۔»  

muslim:4 – Muḥammad b. ʿAbdullāh b. Numayr from my father > Saʿīd b. ʿUbayd > ʿAlī b. Rabīʿah > Atayt al-Masjid And al-Mughīrah Amīr al-Kūfah > al-Mughīrah

I arrived at the Masjid and al-Mughīrah, the Amīr of al-Kūfah said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Indeed a lie upon me is not like a lie upon anyone else, for whoever lies upon me intentionally, then he shall take his seat in the Fire."  

مسلم:٤ – وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ رَبِيعَةَ قَالَ أَتَيْتُ الْمَسْجِدَ وَالْمُغِيرَةُ أَمِيرُ الْكُوفَةِ قَالَ فَقَالَ الْمُغِيرَةُ

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ إِنَّ كَذِبًا عَلَىَّ لَيْسَ كَكَذِبٍ عَلَى أَحَدٍ فَمَنْ كَذَبَ عَلَىَّ مُتَعَمِّدًا فَلْيَتَبَوَّأْ مَقْعَدَهُ مِنَ النَّارِ

[Machine] "What is the ruling on lying in Islam? Indeed, I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying: 'Verily, lying against me is not like lying against anyone else. So, whoever intentionally lies about me, let him reserve his seat in the Hellfire.' [Machine] "What is this mourning in Islam?" They said, "A man from the Ansar called Qaradhatu bin Kaab has died, so we are lamenting for him." Al-Mughira said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Whoever lies about me deliberately, let him occupy his seat in Hellfire. And I also heard the Prophet of Allah ﷺ saying, "Whoever is mourned over, he will be punished for what is mourned over him."  

البيهقي:٧١٦٩ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ وَأَبُو سَعِيدِ بْنُ أَبِي عَمْرٍو قَالَا ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الصَّغَانِيُّ ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ الطَّائِيُّ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ أَنَّهُ خَرَجَ يَوْمًا إِلَى الْمَسْجِدِ الْأَعْظَمِ وَالْمُغِيرَةُ بْنُ شُعْبَةَ أَمِيرٌ عَلَى الْكُوفَةِ فَخَرَجَ الْمُغِيرَةُ إِلَى الْمَسْجِدِ فَرَقِيَ الْمِنْبَرَ فَحَمِدَ اللهَ وَأَثْنَى عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ

مَا هَذَا النَّوْحُ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ؟ قَالُوا تُوُفِّيَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ يُقَالُ لَهُ قَرَظَةُ بْنُ كَعْبٍ فَنِيحَ عَلَيْهِ قَالَ الْمُغِيرَةُ إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ كَذِبًا عَلَيَّ لَيْسَ كَكَذِبٍ عَلَى أَحَدٍ فَمَنْ كَذَبَ عَلَيَّ فَلْيَتَبَوَّأْ مَقْعَدَهُ مِنَ النَّارِ وَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ نَبِيَّ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ مَنْ نِيحَ عَلَيْهِ فَإِنَّهُ يُعَذَّبُ بِمَا نِيحَ عَلَيْهِ

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Whoever intentionally lies about me, then he should prepare his place in the Fire. And I heard him saying, "Whoever mourns excessively for him, then he will be punished for his excessive mourning."  

البيهقي:٧١٧٠ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو طَاهِرٍ الْفَقِيهُ أنبأ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الصَّيْدَلَانِيُّ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ نَصْرٍ ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ الْأَسَدِيُّ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ قَالَ كَانَ أَوَّلُ مَنْ نِيحَ عَلَيْهِ بِالْكُوفَةِ عَلَى قَرَظَةَ بْنِ كَعْبٍ وَزَعَمَ أَنَّ الْمُغِيرَةَ بْنَ شُعْبَةَ قَامَ فَحَمِدَ اللهَ وَأَثْنَى عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ إِنِّي

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ مَنْ كَذَبَ عَلَيَّ مُتَعَمِّدًا فَلْيَتَبَوَّأْ مَقْعَدَهُ مِنَ النَّارِ وَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ مَنْ نِيحَ عَلَيْهِ فَإِنَّهُ يُعَذَّبُ بِمَا نِيحَ عَلَيْهِ
