The Prophet ﷺ used to say the Maghrib prayer immediately after the sun had set when its upper side would disappear. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 417)
كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي الْمَغْرِبَ سَاعَةَ تَغْرُبُ الشَّمْسُ إِذَا غَابَ حَاجِبُهَا

Salama b. al-Akwa' reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray the evening prayer when the sun had set and disappeared (behind the horizon). (Using translation from Muslim 636)
