[Machine] I do not see the ransom except for the tribe, because they understand it. Has anyone of you heard anything from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ regarding this matter? Al-Dhahhak ibn Sufyan al-Kilabi said, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to employ him to deal with the Bedouins. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ wrote to me that I should inherit the woman from Asyam al-Dhababi from her husband's ransom. Umar ibn al-Khattab took that into account.  

أحمد:١٥٧٤٥ – حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ قَالَ

مَا أَرَى الدِّيَةَ إِلَّا لِلْعَصَبَةِ لِأَنَّهُمْ يَعْقِلُونَ عَنْهُ فَهَلْ سَمِعَ أَحَدٌ مِنْكُمْ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي ذَلِكَ شَيْئًا؟ فَقَالَ الضَّحَّاكُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ الْكِلَابِيُّ وَكَانَ اسْتَعْمَلَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَلَى الْأَعْرَابِ كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ أُوَرِّثَ امْرَأَةَ أَشْيَمَ الضَّبَابِيِّ مِنْ دِيَةِ زَوْجِهَا فَأَخَذَ بِذَلِكَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ

Al-Dhahhak bin Sufyan al-Kalbi replied, and the Messenger of Allah used to send him to the Bedouins, "The Messenger of Allah wrote to me that I should give the wife of Ashyam al-Dhibaabi from the diyat (blood money) of her husband." Omar (RA) implemented that.

Then Dhahhak bin Sufyan al-Kilabi stood up and said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ wrote to me that I should inherit the wife of Ashyam al-Dibabi from the blood money of her husband." So Umar inherited her.  

الطبراني:٨١٤١ – حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْوَاسِطِيُّ ثنا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ يَحْيَى زَحْمَوَيْهِ ثنا هُشَيْمٌ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ بْنِ حُسَيْنٍ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ أَنَّ امْرَأَةً أَتَتْ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ ؓ قُتِلَ زَوْجُهَا فَسَأَلَتْهُ أَنْ يُوَرِّثَهَا مِنْ دِيَةِ زَوْجِهَا فَقَالَ

مَا أَعْلَمُ لَكِ شَيْئًا ثُمَّ نَشَدَ النَّاسَ مَنْ كَانَ عِنْدَهُ عِلْمٌ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَلْيَقُمْ فَقَامَ الضَّحَّاكُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ الْكِلَابِيُّ فَقَالَ «كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ أُوَرِّثَ امْرَأَةَ أَشْيَمٍ الضِّبَابِيِّ مِنْ دِيَةِ زَوْجِهَا» فَوَرَّثَهَا عُمَرُ ؓ

" عَنْ ابْنِ المُسَيَّب أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الخَطَّاب قَالَ: مَا أَدَّى الدِّيَةَ إِلَّا العَصَبَةُ، لأنَّهُمْ يَعْقلُونَ عَنْه، فَهَلْ سَمِعَ أَحَدٌ منْكُمْ مِنْ رَسُول الله ﷺ فِى ذَلِكَ شَيْئًا؟ فَقالَ الضَّحَّاكُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ الكِلاَبِىُّ - وَكان النَّبىُّ ﷺ اسْتَعْمَلَهُ عَلَى الأَعْرَابِ - كَتَبَ إِلىَّ رَسُولُ الله ﷺ أَنْ أوَرِّث امْرأَةَ أَشْيَمَ الضِّبابِّى مِنْ دِيَةِ زَوْجها وَكَانَ قُتِلَ خَطَأ، فَأخَذَ بِذَلِكَ عُمَرُ".
