The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to go out to the prayer place on the day of Al-Fitr and the day of Al-Adha and lead the people in prayer. When he sat during the second rak'ah and said the taslim, he stood up and turned to face the people while the people were sitting. If he needed to mention something concerning the dispatch of an army he would tell the people, otherwise he would enjoin the people to give charity. He said: "Give charity" three times, and among those who gave the most charity were the women.  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَخْرُجُ يَوْمَ الْفِطْرِ وَيَوْمَ الأَضْحَى إِلَى الْمُصَلَّى فَيُصَلِّي بِالنَّاسِ فَإِذَا جَلَسَ فِي الثَّانِيَةِ وَسَلَّمَ قَامَ فَاسْتَقْبَلَ النَّاسَ بِوَجْهِهِ وَالنَّاسُ جُلُوسٌ فَإِنْ كَانَتْ لَهُ حَاجَةٌ يُرِيدُ أَنْ يَبْعَثَ بَعْثًا ذَكَرَهُ لِلنَّاسِ وَإِلاَّ أَمَرَ النَّاسَ بِالصَّدَقَةِ قَالَ تَصَدَّقُوا ثَلاَثَ مَرَّاتٍ فَكَانَ مِنْ أَكْثَرِ مَنْ يَتَصَدَّقُ النِّسَاءُ  

“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to go out on the day of ‘Eid and lead the people in praying two Rak’ah, then he would say the Salam and stand on his two feet facing the people while they were sitting down. He would say: ‘Give in charity. Give in charity.’ Those who gave most in charity were the women, (they would give) earrings and rings and things. If he wanted to send out an expedition he would mention it, otherwise he would leave.”  

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَخْرُجُ يَوْمَ الْعِيدِ فَيُصَلِّي بِالنَّاسِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ يُسَلِّمُ فَيَقِفُ عَلَى رِجْلَيْهِ فَيَسْتَقْبِلُ النَّاسَ وَهُمْ جُلُوسٌ فَيَقُولُ تَصَدَّقُوا تَصَدَّقُوا فَأَكْثَرُ مَنْ يَتَصَدَّقُ النِّسَاءُ بِالْقُرْطِ وَالْخَاتَمِ وَالشَّىْءِ فَإِنْ كَانَتْ حَاجَةٌ يُرِيدُ أَنْ يَبْعَثَ بَعْثًا ذَكَرَهُ لَهُمْ وَإِلاَّ انْصَرَفَ  

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ used to go out on the day of Eid. Yahya said: I only know that he (the Prophet) said Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha. He would pray two units of prayer with the people, then he would stand while facing the people and say, "Give charity." Most of those who would give charity were women. Abdul Razzaq said: with a ring, earring, or something similar, and he mentioned its meaning. If he had any need or wanted to deliver a message, he would speak, otherwise, he would leave.  

كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَخْرُجُ يَوْمَ الْعِيدِ قَالَ يَحْيَى لَا أَعْلَمُهُ إِلَّا قَالَ الْفِطْرِ وَالْأَضْحَى فَيُصَلِّي بِالنَّاسِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ فَيَقُومُ قَائِمًا فَيَسْتَقْبِلُ النَّاسَ بِوَجْهِهِ وَيَقُولُ تَصَدَّقُوا فَكَانَ أَكْثَرَ مَنْ يَتَصَدَّقُ النِّسَاءُ قَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ بِالْخَاتَمِ وَالْقُرْطِ وَالشَّيْءِ فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَاهُ فَإِنْ كَانَتْ لَهُ حَاجَةٌ أَوْ أَرَادَ أَنْ يَضَعَ بَعْثًا تَكَلَّمَ وَإِلَّا انْصَرَفَ  

[Machine] "When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would go out on the day of Eid al-Fitr, he would pray two units of prayer with the people, then he would greet and stand facing the people while they were seated. He would say, 'Give charity three times.' The women would give charity with their earrings, rings, and belongings. If the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had a need to admonish the people, he would mention it to them. Otherwise, he would leave."  

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا خَرَجَ يَوْمَ الْعِيدِ يَوْمَ الْفِطْرِ صَلَّى بِالنَّاسِ تَيْنِكَ الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ سَلَّمَ وَقَامَ فَاسْتَقْبَلَ النَّاسَ وَهُمْ جُلُوسٌ فَقَالَ تَصَدَّقُوا ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ فَكَانَ أَكْثَرَ مَنْ يَتَصَدَّقُ النِّسَاءُ بِالْقُرْطِ وَبِالْخَاتَمِ وَبِالشَّيْءِ فَإِنْ كَانَ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ حَاجَةٌ أَنْ يَضْرِبَ عَلَى النَّاسِ بَعْثًا ذَكَرَهُ لَهُمْ وَإِلَّا انْصَرَفَ  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to go out on the day of Eid al-Fitr and offer two units of prayer, then he would give the salaam (greeting) and stand up facing the people while they were sitting. He would say, "Give charity, give charity." The majority of those who would give charity were women with their earrings and rings.

Then he would sit and face them and say to the people, "Give charity." Most of those who would give charity were women, who would give their earrings and bracelets. If he had any need, he would send someone to the people, otherwise he would leave.
