[Machine] The messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "A man who witnessed the Battle of Badr and Al-Hudaybiyah will not enter the fire."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَنْ يَدْخُلَ النَّارَ رَجُلٌ شَهِدَ بَدْرًا وَالْحُدَيْبِيَةَ  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, every prophet has a supplication that they made, and I have saved my supplication as an intercession for my Ummah (nation) on the Day of Resurrection."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّ لِكُلِّ نَبِيٍّ دَعْوَةٌ فَدَعَا بِهَا وَإِنِّي اسْتَخْبَأْتُ دَعْوَتِي شَفَاعَةً لِأُمَّتِي يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ  

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "Indeed, fasting is a shield that protects the servant from the Fire. It is exclusively for Me, and I will reward them for it."  

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّمَا الصِّيَامُ جُنَّةٌ يَسْتَجِنُّ بِهَا الْعَبْدُ مِنَ النَّارِ هُوَ لِي وَأَنَا أَجْزِي بِهِ  

Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When anyone of you is away from his house for a long time, he should not return to his family at night." (Using translation from Bukhārī 5244)  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا أَطَالَ أَحَدُكُمُ الْغَيْبَةَ فَلَا يَطْرُقَنَّ أَهْلَهُ لَيْلًا  

[Machine] Jabir narrated that the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ entered upon me, and I intended to slaughter a goat. The goat struggled, and the Prophet heard its struggle. He said, "O Jabir, do not cut its throat or its offspring." I said, "O Prophet of Allah, it is just a custom that I have fattened it with dates and ripe dates until it became fat."  

لِي جَابِرٌ دَخَلَ عَلَيَّ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَعَمَدْتُ إِلَى عَنْزٍ لِأَذْبَحَهَا فَثَغَتْ فَسَمِعَ ثَغْوَتَهَا فَقَالَ يَا جَابِرُ لَا تَقْطَعْ دَرًّا وَلَا نَسْلًا فَقُلْتُ يَا نَبِيَّ اللهِ إِنَّمَا هِيَ عَتُودَةٌ عَلَفْتُهَا الْبَلَحَ وَالرُّطَبَةَ حَتَّى سَمِنَتْ  

[Machine] There was a blacksmith who worked for Abu Shuayb. When he saw the Prophet Muhammad, ﷺ , exerting himself, he ordered his servant to prepare food for him that would be enough for five people. So, he sent a message to the Prophet Muhammad, ﷺ , requesting him to come and bring four other people with him. The Prophet Muhammad, ﷺ , got up and a man followed him. When they reached the gate, the man said, "You sent me a message that I should bring four other people with me, and this man has followed us. If you permit him, he can enter, otherwise he will go back." The Prophet Muhammad, ﷺ , said, "I have given him permission, O Messenger of Allah," so he entered.  

كَانَ لِأَبِي شُعَيْبٍ غُلَامٌ لَحَّامٌ فَلَمَّا رَأَى مَا بِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ مِنَ الْجَهْدِ أَمَرَ غُلَامَهُ أَنْ يَجْعَلَ لَهُ طَعَامًا يَكْفِي خَمْسَةً فَأَرْسَلَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ ائْتِنَا خَامِسَ خَمْسَةٍ فَقَامَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَاتَّبَعَهُ رَجُلٌ فَلَمَّا انْتَهَى إِلَى بَابِهِ قَالَ إِنَّكَأَرْسَلْتَ إِلَيَّ أَنْ آتِيَكَ خَامِسَ خَمْسَةٍ وَإِنَّ هَذَا قَدِ اتَّبَعَنَا فَإِنْ أَذِنْتَ لَهُ دَخَلَ وَإِلَّا رَجَعَ قَالَ فَإِنِّي قَدْ أَذِنْتُ لَهُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ فَدَخَلَ  

This tradition has also been narrated on the authority of ‘A’ishah through a different chain. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 99)  

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ نَحْوَهُ  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When the sperm settles in the womb for forty days or forty nights, an angel is sent to it and asks, 'O Lord, what will be its provision?' And it is said to him, 'O Lord, what will be its lifespan?' And it is said to him, 'O Lord, will it be a male or a female?' Then it is informed, and it says, 'O Lord, will it be miserable or happy?' Then it is informed."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا اسْتَقَرَّتْ النُّطْفَةُ فِيالرَّحِمِ أَرْبَعِينَ يَوْمًا أَوْ أَرْبَعِينَ لَيْلَةً بَعَثَ إِلَيْهَا مَلَكًا فَيَقُولُ يَا رَبِّ مَا رِزْقُهُ؟ فَيُقَالُ لَهُ فَيَقُولُ يَا رَبِّ مَا أَجَلُهُ؟ فَيُقَالُ لَهُ فَيَقُولُ يَا رَبِّ ذَكَرٌ أَوْ أُنْثَى؟ فَيُعْلَمُ فَيَقُولُ يَا رَبِّ شَقِيٌّ أَمْ سَعِيدٌ؟ فَيُعْلَمُ  

“ ‘Umrah during Ramadan is equivalent to Hajj (i.e. in reward).” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 2991)  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عُمْرَةٌ فِي رَمَضَانَ تَعْدِلُ حَجَّةً  

“One prayer in my mosque is better than one thousand prayers elsewhere, except the Sacred Mosque, and one prayer in the Sacred Mosque is better than one hundred thousand prayers elsewhere.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1406)  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ صَلَاةٌ فِي مَسْجِدِي هَذَا أَفْضَلُ مِنْ أَلْفِ صَلَاةٍ فِيمَا سِوَاهُ إِلَّا الْمَسْجِدَ الْحَرَامَ وَصَلَاةٌ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ أَفْضَلُ مِنْ مِائَةِ أَلْفِ صَلَاةٍ فِيمَا سِوَاهُ  

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ passed by us while we were in a restroom. We invited him to a date palm tree that was in front of us on a shield. He ate from it without performing ablution before eating.  

مَرَّ بِنَا النَّبِيُّ ﷺ مِنَ الْغَائِطِ فَدَعَوْنَاهُ إِلَى عَجْوَةٍ بَيْنَ أَيْدِينَا عَلَى تُرْسٍ فَأَكَلَ مِنْهَا وَلَمْ يَكُنْ تَوَضَّأَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَأْكُلَ مِنْهَا  

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to us while we were reciting the Qur'an, and there were among us bedouins and the non-Arabs. He said: Recite, all is well. In the near future there will appear people who will straighten it (the Qur'an) as an arrow is straightened. They will recite it quickly and not slowly (or it means that they will get the reward in this world and not in the Hereafter). (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 830)   

خَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَنَحْنُ نَقْرَأُ الْقُرْآنَ وَفِينَا الْعَجَمِيُّ وَالْأَعْرَابِيُّ قَالَ فَاسْتَمَعَ فَقَالَ اقْرَءُوا فَكُلٌّ حَسَنٌ وَسَيَأْتِي قَوْمٌ يُقِيمُونَهُ كَمَا يُقَامُ الْقِدْحُيَتَعَجَّلُونَهُ وَلَا يَتَأَجَّلُونَهُ  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited us from eating garlic and onions. Al-Rabi' asked 'Ata' about this, and he said: "Jabir ibn Abdullah narrated to me that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited it."  

إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ نَهَانَا عَنْ أَكْلِ الْكُرَّاثِ وَالْبَصَلِ قَالَ الرَّبِيعُ فَسَأَلْتُ عَطَاءً عَنْ ذَلِكَ فَقَالَ حَدَّثَنِي جَابِرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنْهُ  

[Machine] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ threw a handful of sand, then he returned to it.  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ رَمَلَ مِنَ الْحَجَرِ حَتَّى عَادَ إِلَيْهِ  

I have taken your camelfor four dinars, and you may ride upon it to Medina. (Using translation from Muslim 715v)  

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ لَهُ قَدْ أَخَذْتُ جَمَلَكَ بِأَرْبَعَةِ الدَّنَانِيرِ وَلَكَ ظَهْرُهُ إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ  

We were with the Prophet ﷺ, and he drew a line (in the sand), then he drew two lines to its right and two to its left. Then he put his hand on the middle line and said : 'This is the path of Allah. Then he recited the Verse: And verily, this (i.e. Allah's Commandments) is My straight path, so follow it and follow not (other) paths, for they will separate you from His path..." (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 11)   

كُنَّا جُلُوسًا عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَخَطَّ خَطًّا هَكَذَا أَمَامَهُ فَقَالَ هَذَا سَبِيلُ اللهِ وَخَطَّيْنِ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَخَطَّيْنِ عَنْ شِمَالِهِ قَالَ هَذِهِ سَبِيلُ الشَّيْطَانِ ثُمَّ وَضَعَ يَدَهُ فِي الْخَطِّ الْأَوْسَطِ ثُمَّ تَلَا هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ {وَأَنَّ هَذَا صِرَاطِي مُسْتَقِيمًا فَاتَّبِعُوهُ وَلَا تَتَّبِعُوا السُّبُلَ فَتَفَرَّقَ بِكُمْ عَنْ سَبِيلِهِ ذَلِكُمْ وَصَّاكُمْ بِهِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَتَّقُونَ} [الأنعام 153]  

[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade us from entering the unseen realms."  

نَهَانَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ نَدْخُلَ عَلَى الْمُغِيبَاتِ  

He who has a partner in a dwelling or a garden, it is not lawful for him to sell that until he is permitted by his partner. If he (the partner) agrees, he should go in for that, and if he disapproves of that, he should abandon (the idea of selling it). (Using translation from Muslim 1608a)  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ كَانَ شَرِيكًا فِي رَبْعَةٍأَوْ نَخْلٍ فَلَيْسَ لَهُ أَنْ يَبِيعَ حَتَّى يُؤْذِنَ شَرِيكَهُ فَإِنْ رَضِيَ أَخَذَ وَإِنْ كَرِهَ تَرَكَ  

We set cut with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on a journey when it began to rain. Upon this he said: He who desires may pray in his dwelling. (Using translation from Muslim 698)  

خَرَجْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي سَفَرٍ فَمُطِرْنَا فَقَالَ مَنْ شَاءَ مِنْكُمْ فَلْيُصَلِّ فِي رَحْلِهِ  

عَنْ نُبَيْحٍ الْعَنَزِيِّ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مِنَ الْمَدِينَةِ إِلَى الْمُشْرِكِينَ لِيُقَاتِلَهُمْ وَقَالَ لِي أَبِي عَبْدُ اللهِ يَا جَابِرُ لَا عَلَيْكَ أَنْ تَكُونَ فِي نَظَّارِي أَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ حَتَّى تَعْلَمَ إِلَى مَا يَصِيرُ أَمْرُنَا فَإِنِّي وَاللهِ لَوْلَا أَنِّي أَتْرُكُ بَنَاتٍ لِي بَعْدِي لَأَحْبَبْتُ أَنْ تُقْتَلَ بَيْنَ يَدَيَّ قَالَ فَبَيْنَمَا أَنَا فِي النَّظَّارِينَ إِذْ جَاءَتْ عَمَّتِي بِأَبِي وَخَالِي عَادِلَتَهُمَا عَلَى نَاضِحٍ فَدَخَلَتْ بِهِمَا الْمَدِينَةَ لِتَدْفِنَهُمَا فِي مَقَابِرِنَا إِذْ لَحِقَ رَجُلٌ يُنَادِي أَلَا إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَأْمُرُكُمْ أَنْ تَرْجِعُوابِالْقَتْلَى فَتَدْفِنُوهَا فِي مَصَارِعِهَا حَيْثُ قُتِلَتْ فَرَجَعْنَا بِهِمَا فَدَفَنَّاهُمَا حَيْثُ قُتِلَا فَبَيْنَمَا أَنَا فِي خِلَافَةِ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ إِذْ جَاءَنِي رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ يَا جَابِرُ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ وَاللهِ لَقَدْ أَثَارَ أَبَاكَ عُمَّالَ مُعَاوِيَةَ فَبَدَا فَخَرَجَ طَائِفَةٌ مِنْهُ فَأَتَيْتُهُ فَوَجَدْتُهُ عَلَى النَّحْوِ الَّذِي دَفَنْتُهُ لَمْ يَتَغَيَّرْ إِلَّا مَا لَمْ يَدَعِ الْقَتْلُ أَوِ الْقَتِيلُ فَوَارَيْتُهُقَالَ وَتَرَكَ عَلَيْهِ دَيْنًا مِنَ التَّمْرِ فَاشْتَدَّ عَلَيَّ بَعْضُ غُرَمَائِهِ فِي التَّقَاضِي فَأَتَيْتُ نَبِيَّ اللهِ ﷺ فَقُلْتُ يَا نَبِيَّ اللهِ إِنَّ أَبِي أُصِيبَ يَوْمَ كَذَا وَكَذَا وَتَرَكَ عَلَيْهِ دَيْنًا مِنَ التَّمْرِ وَقدِ اشْتَدَّ عَلَيَّ بَعْضُ غُرَمَائِهِ فِي التَّقَاضِي فَأُحِبُّ أَنْ تُعِينَنِي عَلَيْهِ لَعَلَّهُ أَنْ يُنَظِّرَنِي طَائِفَةً مِنْ تَمْرِهِ إِلَى هَذَا الصِّرَامِ الْمُقْبِلِ فَقَالَ نَعَمْ آتِيكَ إِنْ شَاءَ اللهُ قَرِيبًا مِنْ وَسَطِ النَّهَارِ وَجَاءَ مَعَهُ حَوَارِيُّوهُ ثُمَّ اسْتَأْذَنَ فَدَخَلَ وَقَدْ قُلْتُ لِامْرَأَتِي إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ جَاءَنِي الْيَوْمَ وَسَطَ النَّهَارِ فَلَا أَرَيَنَّكِ وَلَا تُؤْذِي رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فِي بَيْتِي بِشَيْءٍ وَلَا تُكَلِّمِيهِ فَدَخَلَ فَفَرَشَتْ لَهُ فِرَاشًا وَوِسَادَةً فَوَضَعَ رَأْسَهُ فَنَامَ قَالَ وَقُلْتُ لِمَوْلًى لِيَ اذْبَحْ هَذِهِ الْعَنَاقَ وَهِيَدَاجِنٌ سَمِينَةٌ وَالْوَحَى وَالْعَجَلَ افْرُغْ مِنْهَا قَبْلَ أَنْ يَسْتَيْقِظَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَأَنَا مَعَكَ فَلَمْ نَزَلْ فِيهَا حَتَّى فَرَغْنَا مِنْهَا وَهُوَ نَائِمٌ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا اسْتَيْقَظَ يَدْعُو بِالطَّهُورِ وَإِنِّي أَخَافُ إِذَا فَرَغَ أَنْ يَقُومَ فَلَا يَفْرَغَنَّ مِنْ وُضُوئِهِ حَتَّى تَضَعَ الْعَنَاقَ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ فَلَمَّا قَامَ قَالَ يَا جَابِرُ ائْتِنِي بِطَهُورٍ فَلَمْ يَفْرُغْ مِنْ طُهُورِهِ حَتَّى وَضَعْتُ الْعَنَاقَ عِنْدَهُ فَنَظَرَ إِلَيَّ فَقَالَ كَأَنَّكَ قَدْ عَلِمْتَ حُبَّنَا لِلَّحْمِ ادْعُ لِي أَبَا بَكْرٍ قَالَ ثُمَّ دَعَا حَوَارِيَّيْهِ الَّذِيْنَ مَعَهُ فَدَخَلُوا فَضَرَبَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِيَدَيْهِ وَقَالَ بِسْمِ اللهِ كُلُوا فَأَكَلُوا حَتَّى شَبِعُوا وَفَضَلَ لَحْمٌ مِنْهَا كَثِيرٌ قَالَ وَاللهِ إِنَّ مَجْلِسَ بَنِي سَلِمَةَ لَيَنْظُرُونَ إِلَيْهِ وَهُوَ أَحَبُّ إِلَيْهِمْ مِنْ أَعْيُنِهِمْ مَا يَقْرُبُهُ رَجُلٌ مِنْهُمْ مَخَافَةَ أَنْ يُؤْذُوهُ فَلَمَّا فَرَغُوا قَامَ وَقَامَ أَصْحَابُهُ فَخَرَجُوا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ وَكَانَ يَقُولُ خَلُّوا ظَهْرِي لِلْمَلَائِكَةِ وَاتَّبَعْتُهُمْ حَتَّى بَلَغُوا أُسْكُفَّةَ الْبَابِ قَالَ وَأَخْرَجَتْ امْرَأَتِي صَدْرَهَا وَكَانَتْ مُسْتَتِرَةً بِسَفِيفٍ فِي الْبَيْتِ قَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلِّ عَلَيَّ وَعَلَى زَوْجِي صَلَّى الله عَلَيْكَ فَقَالَ صَلَّى الله عَلَيْكِ وَعَلَى زَوْجِكِ ثُمَّ قَالَ ادْعُ لِي فُلَانًا لِغَرِيمِي الَّذِي اشْتَدَّ عَلَيَّ فِي الطَّلَبِقَالَ فَجَاءَ فَقَالَ أَيْسِرْ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ يَعْنِي إِلَى الْمَيْسَرَةِ طَائِفَةً مِنْ دَيْنِكَ الَّذِي عَلَى أَبِيهِ إِلَى هَذَا الصِّرَامِ الْمُقْبِلِ قَالَ مَا أَنَا بِفَاعِلٍ وَاعْتَلَّ وَقَالَ إِنَّمَا هُوَ مَالُ يَتَامَى فَقَالَ أَيْنَ جَابِرٌ؟ فَقَالَ أَنَا ذَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ قَالَ كِلْ لَهُ فَإِنَّ اللهَ سَوْفَ يُوَفِّيهِ فَنَظَرْتُ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ فَإِذَا الشَّمْسُ قَدْ دَلَكَتْ قَالَ الصَّلَاةَ يَا أَبَا بَكْرٍ فَانْدَفَعُوا إِلَى الْمَسْجِدِ فَقُلْتُ قَرِّبْ أَوْعِيَتَكَ فَكِلْتُ لَهُ مِنَ الْعَجْوَةِ فَوَفَّاهُ اللهُ وَفَضَلَ لَنَا مِنَ التَّمْرِ كَذَا وَكَذَا فَجِئْتُ أَسْعَى إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي مَسْجِدِهِ كَأَنِّي شَرَارَةٌ فَوَجَدْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَدْ صَلَّى فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنِّي كِلْتُ لِغَرِيمِي تَمْرَهُ فَوَفَّاهُ اللهُ وَفَضَلَ لَنَا مِنَ التَّمْرِ كَذَا وَكَذَا فَقَالَ أَيْنَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ؟ فَجَاءَ يُهَرْوِلُ فَقَالَ سَلْ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ عَنْ غَرِيمِهِ وَتَمْرِهِ فَقَالَ مَا أَنَا بِسَائِلِهِ قَدْ عَلِمْتُ أَنَّ اللهَ سَوْفَ يُوَفِّيهِ إِذْ أَخْبَرْتَ أَنَّ اللهَ سَوْفَ يُوَفِّيهِ فَكَرَّرَ عَلَيْهِ هَذِهِ الْكَلِمَةَ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ كُلُّ ذَلِكَ يَقُولُ مَا أَنَا بِسَائِلِهِ وَكَانَ لَا يُرَاجِعُ بَعْدَ الْمَرَّةِ الثَّالِثَةِ فَقَالَ يَا جَابِرُ مَا فَعَلَ غَرِيمُكَ وَتَمْرُكَ؟ قَالَ قُلْتُ وَفَّاهُ اللهُ وَفَضَلَ لَنَا مِنَ التَّمْرِ كَذَا وَكَذَا فَرَجَعَ إِلَى امْرَأَتِهِ فَقَالَ أَلَمْ أَكُنْ نَهَيْتُكِ أَنْ تُكَلِّمِي رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ؟ قَالَتْ أَكُنْتَ تَظُنُّ أَنَّ اللهَ يُورِدُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ بَيْتِي ثُمَّ يَخْرُجُ وَلَا أَسْأَلُهُ الصَّلَاةَ عَلَيَّ وَعَلَى زَوْجِي قَبْلَ أَنْيَخْرُجَ  

The Prophet ﷺ saw a man who had been put in the shade and saw a crowd of people around him (in the course of a journey). He said: Fasting while on journey is not part of righteousness. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2407)   

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ رَأَى رَجُلًا قَدْ ظُلِّلَ عَلَيْهِ قَالَ لَيْسَ مِنَ الْبِرِّ أَنْ يَصُومَ فِي السَّفَرِ  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever has land or water, let them cultivate it themselves or let their brother cultivate it. And do not sell it." So I asked Sa'id, "Is renting allowed?" He said, "Yes."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ كَانَ لَهُ فَضْلُ أَرْضٍ أَوْ مَاءٍ فَلْيَزْرَعْهَا أَوْ لِيُزْرِعْهَا أَخَاهُ وَلَا تَبِيعُوهَا فَسَأَلْتُ سَعِيدًا مَا لَا تَبِيعُوهَا الْكِرَاءُ؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ  

[Machine] Narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "O Ka'b ibn 'Ujrah, I seek refuge with Allah for you from the leadership of fools." Ka'b asked: "O Messenger of Allah, what is that?" He replied: "There will be rulers after me, that whoever comes to them and believes their words and supports them in their injustice, then he is not of me and I am not of him, and they will not come to me at the Pool (of Al-Kawthar). And whoever does not come to them and does not believe their words and does not support them in their injustice, then he is from me and I am from him, and those will come to me at the Pool (of Al-Kawthar). O Ka'b ibn 'Ujrah, prayer is a sacrifice, fasting is a shield, and charity extinguishes sins as water extinguishes fire. O Ka'b ibn 'Ujrah, those whose flesh is nurtured by unlawful things will not enter Paradise. Fire is more deserving for them. O Ka'b ibn 'Ujrah, people are heading towards two destinations: a seller who sells himself and a buyer who destroys himself, a seller who sells himself and a buyer who frees himself."  

حَدَّثَنَا أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ يَا كَعْبُ بْنَ عُجْرَةَ أُعِيذُكَ بِاللهِ مِنْ إِمَارَةِ السُّفَهَاءِ قَالَ وَمَا ذَاكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ أُمَرَاءٌ سَيَكُونُونَ مِنْ بَعْدِي مَنْ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهِمْ فَصَدَّقَهُمْ بِحَدِيثِهِمْ وَأَعَانَهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ فَلَيْسُوا مِنِّي وَلَسْتُ مِنْهُمْ وَلَمْ يَرِدُوا عَلَيَّ الْحَوْضَ وَمَنْ لَمْ يَدْخُلْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَمْ يُصَدِّقْهُمْ بِحَدِيثِهِمْ وَلَمْ يُعِنْهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ فَأُولَئِكَ مِنِّي وَأَنَا مِنْهُمْ وَأُولَئِكَ يَرِدُونَ عَلَيَّ الْحَوْضَ يَا كَعْبُ بْنَ عُجْرَةَ الصَّلَاةُ قُرْبَانٌ وَالصَّوْمُ جُنَّةٌ وَالصَّدَقَةُ تُطْفِئُ الْخَطِيئَةَ كَمَا يُطْفِئُ الْمَاءُ النَّارَ يَا كَعْبُ بْنَ عُجْرَةَ لَا يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ مَنْ نَبَتَ لَحْمُهُ مِنْ سُحْتٍ النَّارُ أَوْلَى بِهِ يَا كَعْبُ بْنَ عُجْرَةَ النَّاسُ غَادِيَانِ فَغَادٍ بَائِعٌ نَفْسَهُ وَمُوبِقٌ رَقَبَتَهُ وَغَادٍ مُبْتَاعٌ نَفْسَهُ وَمُعْتِقٌ رَقَبَتَهُ  

[Machine] On the authority of Nubayh Al-Anzi, who narrated from Jabir ibn Abdullah, who said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "When one of you enters upon his family at night, he should not approach them suddenly."  

عَنْ نُبَيْحٍ الْعَنَزِيِّ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا دَخَلَ أَحَدُكُمْ لَيْلًا فَلَا يَطْرُقَنَّ أَهْلَهُ طُرُوقًا  

"The Messenger of Allah forbade plastering over graves." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2029)   

نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ تُجَصَّصَ الْقُبُورُ أَوْ يُبْنَى عَلَيْهَا  

[Machine] "A man from the tribe of Udhrah passed away during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He was buried at night, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ instructed that the man should not be buried at night until he is prayed upon, unless there is a necessity for it."  

تُوُفِّيَ رَجُلٌ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ مِنْ بَنِي عُذْرَةَ فَقُبِرَ لَيْلًا فَنَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ يُقْبَرَ الرَّجُلُ بِاللَّيْلِ حَتَّى يُصَلَّى عَلَيْهِ إِلَّا أَنْ يَضْطَرُّوا إِلَى ذَلِكَ  

[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'I saw as if I had brought a cluster of dates and I bit into it and found a pit that hurt me, so I spat it out. Then I took another date and bit into it and found a pit, so I spat it out. Then I took another date and bit into it and found a pit, so I spat it out.' Abu Bakr said, 'Let me interpret it.' He said, 'Interpret it.' Abu Bakr said, 'It is your army that you have sent. They will be safe and will gain spoils. They will encounter a man who will claim your protection, so they will honor it. Then they will encounter another man who will claim your protection, so they will honor it. Then they will encounter another man who will claim your protection, so they will honor it.' He said, 'That is so,' said the angel."  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ رَأَيْتُ كَأَنِّي أَتَيْتُ بِكُتْلَةِ تَمْرٍ فَعَجَمْتُهَا فِي فَمِي فَوَجَدْتُ فِيهَا نَوَاةً آذَتْنِي فَلَفَظْتُهَا ثُمَّ أَخَذْتُ أُخْرَى فَعَجَمْتُهَا فَوَجَدْتُ فِيهَا نَوَاةً فَلَفَظْتُهَا ثُمَّ أَخَذْتُ أُخْرَى فَعَجَمْتُهَا فَوَجَدْتُ فِيهَا نَوَاةً فَلَفَظْتُهَا فَقَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ دَعْنِي فَلْأَعْبُرْهَا قَالَ قَالَ اعْبُرْهَا قَالَ هُوَ جَيْشُكَ الَّذِي بَعَثْتَ يَسْلَمُ وَيَغْنَمُ فَيَلْقَوْنَ رَجُلًا فَيَنْشُدُهُمْ ذِمَّتَكَ فَيَدَعُونَهُ ثُمَّ يَلْقَوْنَ رَجُلًا فَيَنْشُدُهُمْ ذِمَّتَكَ فَيَدَعُونَهُ ثُمَّ يَلْقَوْنَ رَجُلًا فَيَنْشُدُهُمْ ذِمَّتَكَفَيَدَعُونَهُ قَالَ كَذَلِكَ قَالَ الْمَلَكُ  

Messenger of Allah ﷺ decided the validity of preemption in every joint undivided property, but if the boundaries were well marked or the ways and streets were fixed, then there was no pre-emption. (Using translation from Bukhārī 2214)  

قَضَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِالشُّفْعَةِ فِي كُلِّ مَا لَمْ يُقْسَمْ فَإِذَا وَقَعَتِ الْحُدُودُ وَصُرِّفَتِ الطُّرُقُ فَلَا شُفْعَةَ  

"Any man who gives a lifelong gift to another man, it belongs to him (the recipient) and his descendants. He said: 'I have given it to you and to your descendants so long as any of you are still alive.' So it belongs to the one to whom it was given, and it cannot revert to the first owner, since he has given it as a gift, and as such, it becomes subject to the same ruling as the estate." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 3748)   

أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَضَى أَيُّمَا رَجُلٍ أُعْمِرَ عُمْرَى لَهُ وَلِعَقِبِهِ فَقَالَ قَدْ أَعْطَيْتُكَهَا وَعَقِبَكَ مَا بَقِيَ مِنْكُمْ أَحَدٌ فَإِنَّمَا هِيَ قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ لِمَنْ أَعْطَاهَاوَقَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ لِمَنْ أُعْطِيَهَا وَإِنَّهَا لَا تَرْجِعُ إِلَى صَاحِبِهَا مِنْ أَجْلِ أَنَّهُ أَعْطَاهَا عَطَاءً وَقَعَتْ فِيهِ الْمَوَارِيثُ  

[Machine] "Indeed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stoned the Jamratul ‘Aqabah on the Day of Sacrifice after the morning prayer, and he also stoned in the remaining days of Tashreeq after the sun had passed its zenith."  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ رَمَى جَمْرَةَ الْعَقَبَةِ يَوْمَ النَّحْرِ ضُحًى وَرَمَى فِي سَائِرِ أَيَّامِ التَّشْرِيقِ بَعْدَمَا زَالَتِ الشَّمْسُ  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Pray upon your brother who passed away outside of your land." They said, "Who, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "An-Najashi Sahmatah." Then I asked, "Did you line up in rows for him?" He said, "Yes, I was in the third row."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ صَلُّوا عَلَى أَخٍ لَكُمْ مَاتَ بِغَيْرِ أَرْضِكُمْ قَالُوا مَنْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ النَّجَاشِيُّ صْحَمَةُ قَالَ فَقُلْتُ فَصَفَفْتُمْ عَلَيْهِ؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ كُنْتُ فِي الصَّفِّ الثَّالِثِ  

Messenger of Allah ﷺ took hold of my hand one day (and led me) to his residence. There was presented to him some pieces of bread, whereupon he said: Is there no condiment? They (the members of his household) said: No, except some vinegar. He (the Holy Prophet) said: Vinegar is a good condiment. Jabir said: I have always loved vinegar since I heard it trom Allah's Apostle ﷺ. Talha said: I have always loved vinegar since I heard about it from Jabir. (Using translation from Muslim 2052b)   

أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللهِ ﷺ أَخَذَ بِيَدِهِ إِلَى مَنْزِلِهِ فَلَمَّا انْتَهَى قَالَ مَا مِنْ غَدَاءٍ أَوْ عَشَاءٍ ؟ شَكَّ طَلْحَةُ قَالَ فَأَخْرَجُوا فَلْقًا مِنْ خُبْزٍ قَالَ أَمَا مِنْ أُدْمٍ؟ قَالُوا لَا إِلَّا شَيْءٌ مِنْ خَلٍّ قَالَ أَدْنِيهِ فَإِنَّ الْخَلَّ نِعْمَ الْأُدْمُ هُوَ قَالَ جَابِرٌ مَا زِلْتُ أُحِبُّ الْخَلَّ مُنْذُ سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وقَالَ طَلْحَةُ مَا زِلْتُ أُحِبُّ الْخَلَّ مُنْذُ سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ جَابِرٍ  

O Allah, I am a human being and for any person amongst Muslims upon whom I hurl malediction or invoke curse or give him whipping make it a source of purity and mercy. (Using translation from Muslim 2601a)  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ اللهُمَّ إِنَّمَا أَنَا بَشَرٌ فَأَيُّمَا رَجُلٍ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ سَبَبْتُهُ أَوْ جَلَدْتُهُ أَوْ لَعَنْتُهُ فَاجْعَلْهَا لَهُ زَكَاةً وَأَجْرًا  

[Machine] "He said it as an act of charity and mercy."  

أَنَّهُ قَالَ زَكَاةً وَرَحْمَةً  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When one of you wants to perform istijmar (cleansing after using the restroom), let him do it three times."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا اسْتَجْمَرَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَلْيَسْتَجْمِرْ ثَلَاثًا  

[Machine] I heard the Prophet ﷺ say, "There is no Muslim man or Muslim woman, or believing man or believing woman who is afflicted with an illness, except that Allah removes from them some of their sins."  

سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ مَا مِنْ مُسْلِمٍ وَلَا مُسْلِمَةٍ وَلَا مُؤْمِنٍ وَلَا مُؤْمِنَةٍ يُصِيبُهُ مَرَضٌ إِلَّا حَطَّ اللهُ عَنْهُ مِنْ خَطَايَاهُ  

[Machine] I was sitting in the presence of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when his shirt slipped out from his pocket until he took it out from his legs. The people looked at the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , so he said, "I was commanded to wear my (clean) clothes that I was sent with today and to apply perfume today with water from such and such place." So, I wore a shirt and I forgot, thus I did not take my shirt off from my head. He had sent his (clean) clothes from the city and he stayed in the city.  

كُنْتُ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ جَالِسًا فَقُدَّ قَمِيصُهُ مِنْ جَيْبِهِ حَتَّى أَخْرَجَهُ مِنْ رِجْلَيْهِ فَنَظَرَ الْقَوْمُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ إِنِّي أَمَرْتُ بِبُدْنِي الَّتِي بَعَثْتُ بِهَا أَنْ تُقَلَّدَ الْيَوْمَ وَتُشْعَرَ الْيَوْمَ عَلَى مَاءِ كَذَا وَكَذَا فَلَبِسْتُ قَمِيصًا وَنَسِيتُ فَلَمْ أَكُنْ أُخْرِجُ قَمِيصِي مِنْ رَأْسِي وَكَانَ قَدْ بَعَثَ بِبُدْنِهِ مِنَ الْمَدِينَةِ وَأَقَامَ بِالْمَدِينَةِ  

The Prophet ﷺ said, "Whoever eats garlic or onion should keep away from our mosque or should remain in his house." (Jabir bin ʿAbdullah, in another narration said, "Once a big pot containing cooked vegetables was brought. On finding unpleasant smell coming from it, the Prophet ﷺ asked, 'What is in it?' He was told all the names of the vegetables that were in it. The Prophet ﷺ ordered that it should be brought near to some of his companions who were with him. When the Prophet ﷺ saw it he disliked to eat it and said, 'Eat. (I don't eat) for I converse with those whom you don't converse with (i.e. the angels). (Using translation from Bukhārī 855)  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ أَكَلَ ثُومًا أَوْ بَصَلًا فَلْيَعْتَزِلْنَا أَوْ قَالَ فَلْيَعْتَزِلْ مَسْجِدَنَا وَلْيَقْعُدْ فِي بَيْتِهِ
