[Machine] On the authority of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ who said to Jibril ﷺ : "Why have I never seen Mikael ﷺ laugh?" He said, "Mikael has not laughed since the Fire was created."

الزهد لأحمد:٣٥٩ – حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنِي أبِي أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عَيَّاشٍ عَنْ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ غَزِيَّةَ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ حُمَيْدَ بْنَ عُبَيْدٍ مَوْلَى بَنِي الْمُعَلَّى يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ ثَابِتًا الْبُنَانِيَّ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ لِجِبْرِيلَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ «مَا لِي لَمْ أَرَ مِيكَائِيلَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ ضَاحِكًا قَطُّ؟» قَالَ «مَا ضَحِكَ مِيكَائِيلُ مُنْذُ خُلِقَتِ النَّارُ»

ahmad-zuhd:145 – ʿAbdullāh from my father > Ibrāhīm b. Jabalah > Rabāḥ > Ḥudditht

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said to Jibril ﷺ , "You have not come to me except with a serious look on your face." Jibril ﷺ replied, "I have not smiled since the creation of fire."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ لِجِبْرِيلَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ «لَمْ تَأْتِنِي إِلَّا وَأَنْتَ صَارٌّ بَيْنَ عَيْنَيْكَ» قَالَ «إِنِّي لَمْ أَضْحَكْ مُنْذُ خُلِقَتِ النَّارُ»
