[Machine] When the delegation of Bakr ibn Wail came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , he asked them, "What happened to Quss ibn Sa'idah al-Iyadi?" They replied, "He has passed away, O Messenger of Allah." He said, "It is as if I see him in the market of 'Ukaz, riding a red camel and saying, 'O people, gather and listen to what I say. Anyone who is alive, will eventually die, and anyone who has died, has passed everything that was supposed to come to him. A cradle will be put in its place, a raised roof, stars that do not shake, and seas that do not dry up. As for the future, there are news in the heavens and lessons in the earth. I swear that Allah has a religion, and it pleases Him more than any other religion you are currently on.'" He then recited a poem and a man from the people said, "Shall I narrate it, O Messenger of Allah?" So he recited:

"In the first centuries of those who have gone, we have insights,

When I saw resources for the destinations, that have no sources,

The past does not return to me and the remaining do not diminish,

I have come to know for sure that inevitably I will be among those who become."

[Machine] A delegation from the tribe of Abd al-Qays came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "Who of you knows al-Quss bin Sa'idah al-Iyadi?" They all said, "O Messenger of Allah, we all know him." He asked, "What happened to him?" They replied, "He passed away." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I remember him at 'Ukaz during the sacred month, riding a red camel, delivering a sermon to the people. He used to say, 'O people, gather and listen. Whoever is alive, let him live, and whoever is dead, let him stay dead. Everything that is destined to come will come. Indeed, in the sky, there is news, and on the earth, there are lessons. A cradle is placed and a ceiling raised, and the stars move while the seas do not cease. Quss swore an oath, saying, 'If there is contentment on the earth, there will surely be wrath afterwards.' Indeed, Allah has a religion that He loves more than your religion. As for me, I see people going away and never returning. Have they become pleased and established? Or have they been left to sleep?' Then he ﷺ said, 'Is there anyone among you who can recite poetry?' Some of them started reciting their poetry."
