[Machine] Narrated by the Prophet ﷺ: "Woe to gold and silver!" Umar asked, "O Messenger of Allah, what should we do or what should we engage in?" He replied, "Have a tongue that remembers Allah, a heart that is grateful, and a wife that helps you in the Hereafter."

الزهد لأحمد:١٠٤ – حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ النَّخَعِيَّ عَنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي الْهُذَيْلِ حَدَّثَنَا صَاحِبٌ لِي

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «تَبًّا لِلذَّهَبِ وَالْفِضَّةِ» قَالَ عُمَرُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَوْلُكَ «تَبًّا لِلذَّهَبِ وَالْفِضَّةِ» فَمَا تَأْمُرُنَا؛ أَوْ مَا نَصْنَعُ؟ قَالَ «لِسَانًا ذَاكِرًا وَقَلْبًا شَاكِرًا وَزَوْجَةً تُعِينُ عَلَى الْآخِرَةِ»

[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Woe to gold and silver!' My companion told me that he went with Umar ibn Al-Khattab and said, 'O Messenger of Allah, what do you mean by saying woe to gold and silver?' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, 'They are a reminder for the tongue, gratitude for the heart, and a wife who assists in the hereafter.'"
