The Prophet ﷺ said: If anyone spends the night on the roof of a house with no stone palisade, Allah's responsibility to guard him no longer applies.
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَنْ بَاتَ عَلَى ظَهْرِ بَيْتٍ لَيْسَ لَهُ حِجَارٌ فَقَدْ بَرِئَتْ مِنْهُ الذِّمَّةُ

'Ali reported that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "If anyone spends the night on the top of his house without protection, Allah has no responsibility for (protecting) him."
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ بَاتَ عَلَى ظَهْرِ بَيْتٍ لَيْسَ عَلَيْهِ حِجَابٌ فَقَدْ بَرِئَتْ مِنْهُ الذِّمَّةُ قال أبو عبد الله في إسناده نظر
"مَنْ بَاتَ عَلَى ظَهْرِ بَيتٍ لَيسَ عَلَيهِ حِجَارٌ، فَقَدْ بَرِئَتْ مِنْهُ الذِّمَّةُ".
