abudawud:2702Mūsá b. Ismāʿīl And al-Qaʿnabī > Sulaymān > Ḥumayd / Ibn Hilāl > ʿAbdullāh b. Mughaffal > Dullī Jirāb from Shaḥm Yawm Khaybar > Faʾataytuh Wa-al-Tazamtuh

‘Abd Allaah bin Mughaffal said “On the day of Khaibar a skin of fat was hanging. I came to it and clung to it. I then said (i.e., thought) I shall not give any one any of it today. I then turned round and saw the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ smiling at me.  

أبو داود:٢٧٠٢حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ وَالْقَعْنَبِيُّ قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ يَعْنِي ابْنَ هِلاَلٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُغَفَّلٍ قَالَ دُلِّيَ جِرَابٌ مِنْ شَحْمٍ يَوْمَ خَيْبَرَ قَالَ فَأَتَيْتُهُ فَالْتَزَمْتُهُ قَالَ

ثُمَّ قُلْتُ لاَ أُعْطِي مِنْ هَذَا أَحَدًا الْيَوْمَ شَيْئًا قَالَ فَالْتَفَتُّ فَإِذَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَتَبَسَّمُ إِلَىَّ

"A bag of fat was thrown on the day of Khaibar, and I caught it and said: "I will not give anything of this to anyone.' I turned around and saw the Messenger of Allah there, smiling." (Sahih ) (Using translation from Nasāʾī 4435)
